2.1 General Notes
+ Profile Manager/Default Search (System Form)
You can no longer configure or deactivate the default search in the profile management. The default
search is only visible to administrators.
+ Results List
With Service Pack 1, the icon for the default action in the results list is no longer displayed, for
performance reasons. It is however possible to reactivate it by configuring "web.xml".
+ 64-Bit Server
It is not possible to update to a 64-bit version from a 32-bit server version, since various components
are not included in the installation.
+ Compilation of DLLs
The handling of strings in UBI has changed for version 7.1 SP1. .NET applications should be
recompiled after the new SaUbiNet.dll is added.
+ ELM Webservice and SaUbiNet.dll
The SAPERION ELM web service--the main interface between the Metalogix software and the
SAPERION core server/Java core server--is connected to SAPERION via UBI.NET. With the
deployment of v7.1 SP1, it is imperative that the most recent web service be used, since it contains a
current version of the SaUbiNet.dll. The latest version of the ELM web service is downloadable here:
ftp://ftp.saperion.com/partners/releases/components/ELM/ELM%204.4/

4 New Features and Components
The following components and integrations have been released with version 7.1:
4.1 Snowbound Virtual Viewer (Integration)
The Snowbound Virtual Viewer is integrated with the SAPERION ECM Web Client to enable viewing in
the web.
4.2 Web Services (Integration)
Open source-based web services are an integral part of the product development process. They offer a
quality-assured interface, for example as part of the SharePoint integration.
4.3 SAP Web Viewer
In SAP-based installations, the SAP web viewer can be used to display SAPERION documents in SAP.
The SAP web viewer is based on the SAPERION web client. Access to SAPERION is made possible via
a technical User.
4.4 Signavio Process Viewer
There is an integrated Signavio Process Viewer in the workflow inbox, for scenarios which contain
processes that are modeled in the SAPERION ECM Process Modeler. With this enhancement, the user
gains an overview of his tasks in the overall context of the process.
4.5 iSAPERION for iPhone and iPad
With the new app, users are now able to access their data and documents in the SAPERION ECM Solution
via iPhone or iPad. With iSAPERION, annotating documents, starting business processes, delegating

documents in the context of release processes, or searching in files or in a complete set of documents
are now all possible.
4.6 SAPERION ECM Web Content Archive
Selected web content such as terms and conditions, blog posts, and RSS feeds can be automatically
collected, stored away, and restored. The content remains revision-proof.
SAPERION ECM Web Content Archive can archive and reproduce web pages exactly as they were
presented when the user first called them up.
4.7 SAPERION ECM Data Archiving for SAP ILM
SAP ILM builds upon standard SAP data archiving and has enhancements in the SAP Retention
Management (RM) functions.
Data from the data archiving can be managed in SAP based on the RM viewpoint. (This functionality is
not offered in the normal SAP data archiving via the AL-interface.)
It is also possible to place documents which were archived via ArchiveLink under the management of
ILM in such a way that RM rules can be applied to these documents.
A further feature from ILM is the so-called system decommissioning: SAP ILM makes it possible to pull
snapshots out of old SAP systems and archive them via SAP ILM. This aids in reporting that must follow
GDPdU and GoBS guidelines.
4.8 SAPERION ECM R/ Indexer für SAP
Documents linked with SAP objects are assigned index values to the corresponding SAP objects
via R/ Indexer. After archiving via R/ Indexer, these metadata are loaded from SAP and archived in
SAPERION. This makes a quick and easy search outside of SAP possible.
4.9 SAPERION ECM Compliance Box
All emails sent to or from a business are archived revision-proof in the SAPERION ECM System. This
occurs without affecting the users, who continue to work in their accustomed email system.
Access to emails archived in the compliance archive is only intended for the case where the sending and
receiving of email, as well as its unchanged content, must be proven without a doubt, for example in
the context of a law suit. To meet data privacy requirements, it is possible to arrange research in the
compliance archive by for example including a member of the work council.
4 New Features and Components
6
The archiving of the email is then effected via the journaling function of your email system, which
functions as an intermediate station for email on its way to the compliance archive, and is emptied after
successful archiving.
4.10 Compliance Box Integration
Should you need support when installing the SAPERION ECM Compliance Box, contact us at
4.11 SAPERION Multi-format Viewer
With the SAPERION Multi-format Viewer, documents such as PDF and Office application files (MSWord,
Excel, MSG) can be opened in the SAPERION Rich Client without having to install the original application
(Adobe Reader or Microsoft Word, e.g.).
i MS PowerPoint PPTX files are not supported at the moment.
The original document is maintained in the structure and can be edited in the external application upon
demand.
With the SAPERION viewer, it is possible to add annotations such as notes and black markers to
documents, in order to leave information for users working on the documents at another time.
The multi-format viewer is included in the standard install and can be activated by editing the SAPERION
configuration files.
4.12 New Sample Scenario “Project File”
7
We recommend using the "DocLoadOriginal" configuration in order to be able to work in both the
original application file and the rendered document. For more information, see the Adminstration Guide
for the SAPERION Rich Client.
4.12 New Sample Scenario “Project File”
The sample scenario "Project File" is included in the standard install. This sample scenario helps
demonstrate the functional application and practical use of files.
4.13 DB2-Database Support for SAPERION (without full
text)
With Service Pack 1, it is now possible to operate SAPERION ECM with a DB2 database without the
option of full text. In addition there are several special configurations that need to be executed, including
the DB2 installation with UTF-8.
4.14 Support for Multiple Database Connections
With this new feature it is now possible to include and use master data tables from other databases
in SAPERION scenarios. For example, one could use an ORACLE database for the index tables and a
SQLServer database for the lookup tables.
4.15 Improved Security
Security has been improved in the Web Client through SQL Injections, ID Strength, and Encrypted
Cookies.
4.16 Release Function for Documents in the Web Client
With this function, releases of certain documents can be made accessible to a group of users (read-only).
4.17 Client-specific Forms
Application-related forms are only shown where wished. In the Form Designer, you can choose from the
following options:
+ display exclusively in Web Client
+ display exclusively in Rich Client or

+ display in both clients.
4.18 Duplicate Write
With this new function it is possible, in the case of a failover, to write documents to two Centera or
NetApp storage systems simultaneously.
Further implementations of the supported storage can be found in the compatibility list.
4.19 Consolidation of Configuration Files for the Web Client
It was previously necessary to set certain keys or settings in multiple different places in the configuration
files. With the new SAPERION ECM version, the configuration has been simplified.
Further information can be found in the SAPERION documentation portal (Administration Web Client).
