 ABOUT THE WASHINGTON HUSKIES  - Washington is off to a 4-1 start for headcoach Lorenzo Romar, who is in his 10th season leading the Huskies basketball program.Romar is 199-103 at UW and 292-191 overall in his 16th season.

 The Huskies have three players averaging double figures led by 6-5 sophomoreguard, C.J. Wilcox who is scoring 16.2 points and grabbing 4.4 rebounds per game.Wilcox is shooting 55.2 percent from behind the arc and 48.2 percent overall. Sopho-more guard Terrence Ross (6-6) is scoring 15.8 points per game and is second on thesquad in rebounding at 7.0 per contest. Freshman guard Tony Wroten (6-5) is contribut-ing 12.8 points off the bench for the Huskies.

Center Aziz N’Diaye (7-0) tops UW in rebounding at 8.0 per game and is adding 9.4points and 2.0 blocks per outing. Junior guard Abdul Gaddy (6-3) is the leading assistman for the Huskies at 5.2 per game and is scoring 9.6 points per game. Gaddy leadsthe Pacific 12 in assists.

Offensively the Huskies average 82.6 points and hold opponents to 70 points pergame. From the field UW shoots 47 percent, 46.1 percent from behind the arc and 59.3percent from the free throw line. Opponents are shooting 39.8 percent, 37.5 percentfrom behind the three-point line and 60 percent at the free throw line. On the glass UWholds a plus 6.2 advantage over its opponents, 43-36.8.

NORTHERN NEVADA AT MEN’S HOOPS, FOOTBALL THIS WEEK The University of Nevada will hold food drives to benefit the Food Bank of Northern

Nevada and needy families in the community at this weekend’s men’s basketball andfootball games.

Wolf Pack fans are encouraged to bring donations of non-perishable food to themen’s basketball game vs. Washington at 8 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 2 and the football gamevs. Idaho at 1:05 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 3. Food barrels will be available at the entrancesat both Lawlor Events Center and Mackay Stadium.

LAST GAME: WOLF PACK CLINGS TO VICTORY OVER BRADLEY, 64-59  HOFFMAN ESTATES, Ill. (AP) -- Malik Story scored 20 points, including two free

throws with 6 seconds left, and Nevada held on for a 64-59 victory Saturday over Bradleyon the final day of the Chicago Invitational Challenge.

Story was 6 of 10 from the field, including 4 of 6 on 3-pointers. Olek Czyz added 18points and seven rebounds for the Wolf Pack (4-3).

Taylor Brown had 18 points for the Braves (3-3), and Walt Lemon scored 14.Nevada led by as many as 12 in the first half, but Bradley rallied and was withintwo, 59-57, with 1:17 left. Czyz hit a layup and a free throw in the final minute to pushthe Nevada lead back to five. After Brown made two free throws, Story's two from theline provided the final margin.

This was only the second meeting between the schools. Bradley beat Nevada 95-59 during the 1960-61 season.

PACK GOING TO THE LINE - Nevada continues to get the free throw line withfrequency having made more free throws than opponents have attempted. The Wolf Pack have made 108 free throws and the seven opponents have attempted just 87. Ne-vada has attempted 178 free throws, more than twice the 87 opponents have at-tempted.

The Pack has attempted more free throws in every game than its opponents thisseason. The high was 25 more attempts than Prairie View A&M and the low was fourmore than BYU.

Despite the numerous opportunities at the charity strip, Nevada is shooting just60.7 percent at the free throw line and opponents 65.5 percent.

 STORY NAMED VERIZON WAC PLAYER OF THE WEEK  - DENVER - Nevada'sMalik Story has been named the Verizon Western Athletic Conference Men's BasketballPlayer of the Week for the week of Nov. 21-27. The honor marks the second career WACPlayer of the Week award for Story.

Story, a junior guard from Pasadena, Calif. (Artesia HS/Indiana), led the Wolf Pack to a pair of wins as Nevada went 2-1 in the Chicago Invitational Challenge last week.Story began the week with a game-high 28 points as the Wolf Pack defeated Longwood80-78. He made a career-high seven three-pointers in the win over Longwood. In theloss to Brigham Young, Story tied for team-high honors with 11 points. He concludedthe week with his second 20-point game of the week in the Pack's 64-59 victory overBradley. The 20 points marked a game high and he made 6-of-10 field goals including4-of-6 from behind the arc. For his play at the Chicago Invitational, Story was named tothe all-tournament team.

NEVADA IN 2011-12 WHEN...On the week, Story averaged 19.7 points, 3.0 rebounds, 1.7 assists and 0.7 steals pergame. He shot 48.7 percent (19-of-39) from the field and 53.8 percent (14-of-26) from three-point range.

HUNT SEEKING 100TH CAREER START  - Senior Dario Hunt is slated to make his100th career start on Friday versus Washington. The 6-8 forward, has started 99-of-107games played in his career. He has started the last 43 games and 76 of the last 77 games.

Junior Malik Story and sophomore Deonte Burton are scheduled to make their 40thcareer starts for the Pack on Friday. Both have started all 39 games of their career at Ne-vada.

 STORY MAKES CAREER-HIGH SEVEN THREE-POINTERS  - Junior guard Malik Story made a career-high seven, three-pointers in Nevada’s 80-78 victory over Longwood.Story was good on 7-of-10, three-point attempts versus the Lancers and finished with 28points on the night. The 28 points is tied with Deonte Burton for the Pack high this seasonand the high in the Western Athletic Conference this year. His previous high for three-pointers was six that he accomplished twice last season, with the last being against FresnoState in the WAC Tournament.

Story is fifth in the WAC in scoring at 15.3 points per game. He is second in three-point field goal percentage (53.5) and third in three-pointers made per game (3.29) in theWAC. Nationally he is 16th in three-point percentage and 22nd in three-pointers per game.In free throw percentage he ranks seventh at 84.2 percent and overall is 12th in field goalpercentage at 44.2 in the conference.

BURTON FIFTH PACK PLAYER TO EARN PRESEASON WAC POY NOD -Point guard Deonte Burton became the fifth Nevada player and sixth overall to be selectedas the WAC Coaches’ Preseason Player of the Year. Kirk Snyder (2003-04), Nick Fazekas(2005-06 & 2006-07), Armon Johnson (2008-09) and Luke Babbitt (2009-10) were all pre-season players of the year with Fazekas earning the honor twice. Snyder, Fazekas (twice)and Babbitt all earned the honor at the end of the season when chosen as the preseasonplayer of the year. Like Burton, Babbitt and Johnson were both sophomores when theyearned the preseason honor.

A Nevada player has been named the season ending WAC Player of the Year in five of the last eight seasons with Fazekas grabbing the honor three consecutive seasons from2003-2007.

Johnson and Babbitt are currently on the roster of the NBA’s Portland Trail Blazers.Snyder was first round pick of the Utah Jazz and Fazekas was chosen in the second roundby the Dallas Mavericks. Both played for several teams in the NBA.

Burton was the fourth Pack player to earn WAC Freshman of the Year honors last yearwhen he averaged 13.7 points and 3.5 assists per game. Ramon Sessions (2005), Johnson(2008) and Babbitt (2009) were the previous Nevada players named WAC Freshman of theYear. Sessions, a second round pick of the Milwaukee Bucks, is currently on the roster of the Cleveland Cavaliers.

PACK CAREER REBOUNDERS 

WAC POLLS 

 YOUNG GUNS NO MORE - Nevada was dominated by first-year players last sea-son with nine new faces on the 14-man roster. This season there are two new faces onthe 13 player roster. The Wolf Pack returns 93 percent of its offense from last season. Allfive starters are back in Deonte Burton, Malik Story, Jerry Evans Jr., Dario Hunt and Olek Czyz. Burton, Story and Hunt started all 32 games while Czyz made 21 starts and Evans20. Four other players who made starts last season are back in Kevin Panzer (10), JordanBurris (6), Jordan Finn (3) and Devonte Elliott (3). Patrick Nyeko appeared in 26 gameslast year and earned the team’s Sixth Man Award. Junior guard Keith Fuetsch is back forhis third season in the program giving the Pack 11 letterwiners on the 2011-12 roster. The two newcomers are freshmen Richard Bell and sophomore Brice Crook.

HUNT RECORDS 200TH CAREER BLOCK  - Senior forward Dario Hunt broke theNevada career blocks record in the season-opener versus Missouri State with the 193rdblock his career. In the Longwood game Hunt recorded his 200th career block and nowhas 207 in 107 games. He came into the season tied with Nick Fazekas (2004-07) with192.

Hunt had six blocks in the Pack’s 66-60 loss to New Mexico State in the WAC Tourna-ment last year to move into a tie with Fazekas. Hunt’s 207 blocks have come in 107 gameswhile Fazekas’ 192 came in 131 games. Hunt has three of the top five seasons in schoolhistory with his best year of 67 during the 2008-09 season ranking third and is the fresh-man record. In 2009-10 he had 66 which are fourth on the list and his 59 last year ranksfifth.

Hunt is also climbing the Nevada rebounds career chart with his 750 ranking seventh.His nine in the MSU game moved him over 700 for his career. Ric Herrin (1989-93) is sixthwith 815 rebounds.

NEVADA ONE OF TOP WAC TEAMS OVER LAST EIGHT SEASONS Over the last eight seasons dating back to 2003-04, Nevada has turned in a 186-87 record,the second-most wins of any WAC team during that time (.681 winning percentage). Inconference games, Nevada has won 98 games, the most in that same time period. Thetop two teams in wins (both overall and WAC) over the last eight seasons:

WINNING AT LAWLOR — Nevada has won 82 percent of its games over the pasteight seasons posting a 113-25 record at Lawlor Events Center. The Wolf Pack hasposted a 55-11 WAC mark during that same stretch, a winning percentage of 83. Lastyear was the first year the Pack did not win 10 or more games at the on-campus facilityin the last eight seasons.

CARTER INKS FOUR DURING EARLY SIGNING PERIOD - University of Ne-vada head men’s basketball coach David Carter signed three players to National Lettersof Intent for the 2012-13 season. Guard Marqueze Coleman along with forwards ColeHuff, Raphael Carter and Cheikh (Ali) Fall will join the Pack next season.

Coleman, of Encino, Calif., is a 6-3, 180-pound shooting guard who averaged 13.1points, 2.1 assists, 5.7 rebounds and 1.1 blocks for Bishop Alemany High School in Mis-sion Hills, Calif. last season. He earned first-team All-CIF and second-team MissionLeague honors following his junior year. The Warriors posted a 20-11 record last year.

 The 6-8, 200-pound Huff from Altadena, Calif. attends Campbell Hall High School inNorth Hollywood, Calif. As a junior, the small forward averaged 16.2 points, 7.8 re-bounds, 1.2 blocks, 1.3 steals and 1.2 assists per game. He helped the Vikings to a 17-10record last season.

Carter is a 6-8, 215-pound forward who is currently in his sophomore season at Dia-blo Valley College in Pleasant Hill, Calif. The Columbus, Ohio native earned first-teamAll-Big 8 Conference and honorable mention all-state honors as a freshman last season.He helped the Vikings to the conference title with a 13-1 mark and an overall record of 26-5. His freshman year he averaged 9.8 points, 8.4 rebounds and 2.2 blocks per game.

Fall is a 6-9, 240-pound center who is in his sophomore year at Barstow CommunityCollege in Barstow, Calif. Last season, Fall helped BCC to a first place finish in theFoothill Conference posting, a 10-4 mark and the team went 22-7 overall. Originallyfrom Senegal, he attended Meitoku Gijuku School in Kochi, Japan. He earned All-Japan honors and was the top scorer and rebounder in the Western Conference duringthe 2007-08 season.

WOLF PACK LAYUPS 

After starting the season 0-2 the Wolf Pack has won four of its last five games.

Senior forward Dario Hunt recorded his 200th career block versus Longwood. Hunt holdsNevada career record for blocked shots.

Junior guard Malik Story’s seven, three-pointers against Longwood is a new career-high.

Story’s 28 points in the Longwood game tied sophomore guard Deonte Burton for thehigh by a Pack player this season and is tied for the high in the Western Athletic Confer-ence this year.

Burton scored a career-high 28 points at UNLV. He scored 20 of Nevada’s 29 first half points versus the Rebels and made 11-of-14 free throws in the game.

Sophomore guard Jerry Evans, Jr. scored in double figures four consecutive games untilnot scoring for the first time this season in the Bradley game. Evans is fifth on the teamis scoring at 7.3 points per game and is second in rebound grabbing 6.1 per contest.

 Three times this season Nevada has put four players in double figures in the same game.Pacific (11/17/11): Story (18), Olek Czyz (17), Evans, Jr. (11) and Kevin Panzer (11).Longwood (11/20/11): Story (28), Burton (14), Hunt (13) and Evans (10).BYU (11/25/11): Czyz (11), Evans (11), Story (11) and Hunt (10).

Senior Olek Czyz has led the Pack in rebounding the last three games with nine versusLongwood and BYU then seven against Bradley.

After totaling 14 assists in the first two games, an average of seven per game. Nevada isaveraging 15.4 in the last five games with a season-high 20 coming at home versus Long-wood.

In the first four games of the season a different Pack player led the team in scoring. Malik Story became the first player to top the team in scoring twice with his 28 versus Long-wood. On the season Story has led the Pack in scoring four times, Evans twice while Bur-

ton, Panzer and Czyz have each led the team once.

Story has two of Nevada’s three 20-point games with Burton recording the other.

Sophomore Kevin Panzer is averaging 5.9 points per game off the bench which is fifthon the team. He tied his career high with 11 points versus Pacific and led the team with10 points in the Missouri State game. The MSU game is the first time he has topped theteam in scoring. His two three pointers versus Pacific tied his career high. From behindthe arc he is shooting 36.8 percent which is tied for 11th in the WAC.

After not making a field goal in the first two games of the season, senior forward Olek Czyz has scored in double figures in four of the last five games including a season-high

18 in the Pack’s last game versusBradley.

Hunt grabbed double figure reboundsin back-to-back games with 13 versusPacific and 11 in the PVA&M game.Both were also games highs. He has ledthe Pack in rebounding three times thisseason and 40 times in his career. Hunthas 19 career double figure reboundgames.
