In journals: In your own words…what is Darwinism, and what is evolution?
1 Peter 3:13-15a13 Who is going to harm you if you are eager to do good? 14 But even if you should suffer for what is right, you are blessed. “Do not fear their threats; do not be frightened.” 15 But in your hearts revere Christ as Lord.

What is the theory of evolution?Essential #1: It is possible for the DNA of an organism to occasionally change, or mutate. A mutation changes the DNA of an organism in a way that affects its offspring, either immediately or several generations down the line.
From howstuffworks.com
What is the theory of evolution?Essential #2: The change brought about by a mutation is either beneficial, harmful or neutral. If the change is harmful, then it is unlikely to be passed on. If the change is beneficial, then it is likely that the offspring will do better than other offspring and so will reproduce more. Through reproduction, the beneficial mutation spreads. The process of culling bad mutations and spreading good mutations is called natural selection.
What is the theory of evolution?Essential #3: As mutations occur and spread over long periods of time, they cause new species to form. Over the course of many millions of years, the processes of mutation and natural selection have created every species of life that we see in the world today, from the simplest bacteria to humans and everything in between.
The philosophical implications…“A Universal Acid” p156“…purposeless, meaningless, matter in motion…”Is this a scientific claim or a personal philosophy?
P157:Nature…
is all that IS or
WAS or
EVER WILL BE!
Pp158-159• Evolution before
our very eyes?• Dry seasons• Rainy seasons• Cyclical was left
unpublished…
P160-fruit flies• Evidence for
evolution?• Extra wings have
no muscles• The wings weigh
them down• Limited nature of
organic change
Pp161-162: Peppered Moths

• Industrial Revolution
• Darker moths better camoflauged
• Moths don’t perch on trunks
• Photos were staged
P163 Haeckel’s Embryos
• Ontogeny recapitulates phylogeny
• Translation: individual embryos replay all the prior stages of evolution.
• Turned out to be completely faked.
• Continued to be used in textbooks hundreds of years after discovering it to be a fake.
Homework:Read pp165-168, sections “Baloney Detectors” and “Punk Scientists”
What is “punk eek” or punctuated equilibrium?
What problem is it trying to solve for Evolutionists?
