Welcome! Lord Jesus, through your merciful love and
forgiveness you bring healing and restoration to body, soul, and mind. May your healing power and love touch every area of my life - my innermost thoughts,
feelings, attitudes, and memories. Pardon my offenses and transform me in the
power of your Holy Spirit that I may walk confidently in your truth and
righteousness.
¡Bienvenidos!

Gospel Meditation December 12, 2021 | 3RD SUNDAY OF ADVENT
For a Synodal Church
Communion, Participation and Mission.
The third Sunday of Advent is also called Gaudete Sunday. Gaudete is Latin for “rejoice.” Today, we light the rose-colored candle on the Advent wreath, the priest wears rose vest-ments, and the whole Church invites us to celebrate. The Lord rejoices at being in our midst. He has not only become man and walked the earth among us, but he dwells in us through his Holy Spirit. This is personal – he exults to be near you today, to be part of your life. And you can rejoice because he rejoices.
Some saints and favored souls are given an infused grace in which they continually sense the presence of God. Thus, they are palpably aware of the Divine presence throughout their lives. This is a great grace. But the spiritual writers tell us that this “presence of God” can also be acquired by practice. As we go about our day, we thus remind ourselves that God is present. Slowly, we become aware that God is indeed with us. This presence gives us a sense of calm, peace, and even joy. What God has infused in some of the great saints, God offers to each of us. Periodically throughout your day, take a moment to relax, breathe and open your “spiritual senses.” God is indeed with you.
Parish Synod Session.
How is the Holy Spirit drawing us all closer together in communion, participation, and mission? Where is the Holy Spirit leading the Church?
What consensus or common thread emerged in regards to what we are doing well?
What consensus or common thread emerged in regards to what the Holy Spirit is leading the Church to do better?
How is the Holy Spirit working through our parish to draw people to Christ? What opportunities have we missed?

God Bless Our Parish!
