3. Application

Desalinisation in cooling towers

During the process you have to consider the following points: • water has to be refilled (by permanent evaporation water is getting lost)

• change water in sporadic intervals (Desalinisation: by permanent evaporation the liquid is going away, but the ingredients (salt) are increasing. The conductivity is getting higher; deposits in the tubes.

• You have to prevebt the growth of algae (Addition of biocide; in closed systems is a permanent growth of algae possible; that contaminated the cooling tower and could make problems in process e.g. the degree of efficiency is getting down. Therefor you have to add biocides in periodic lags. A secondary effect is the growing of the conductivity.)
