REHAU ACOUSTIC SOLUTIONS Acoustic furniture for better performance in the office

Every human spends around a third of his life at his workplace. The typical day-to-day life in the office: the printer is rattling on one side, the telephone is ringing on the desk to the right, the colleague on the left is on the phone. Noise is one of the largest stress factor in open-plan offices.

This is not only a nuisance but in fact, the noise has adverse effects on the psychosocial health of employees resulting in reduced performances up to 20 %.

Bearing in mind a personnel cost proportion of over 80 % in a company, this leads to significant economic losses, which no company should simply accept.

The solution is so obvious though: good room acoustics keep getting more important in light of the preferred use of architectural design elements such as concrete and glass.

Acoustic furniture provides a considerable con-tribution to the comfort in the office if adequately used thanks to its flexibility, reduces stress and also increases the performance of employees.

REHAU has developed various, effective products with its Acoustic Solutions: efficient and attractive solutions for an individual, acoustic design in office environments – which primarily work in the near field and which are therefore more effective than measures in the distant field.

Many studies have proven that noise makes ill. The daily office noise, for example, also has a direct impact on the health and productivity of employees. It reduces the performance and increases stress levels. Both solutions make use of the available area in the cabinet front: for an efficient sound shielding and absorption or presentation surfaces. In addition to this, they combine storage room and additional function in an intelligent manner. The opening mechanisms do not require additional space into the room in comparison with the conventional

swing doors. The functional furniture surface to DIN 4543 is therefore not required. This results in an increased surface efficiency of up to 20 % and therefore a considerable reduction of construction and operating costs for office areas.

The patented and frequently used 1 tambour door system RAUVOLET acoustic-line captivates as a highly effective broadband absorber.It is the only one of its class, which absorbs sound linearly across the entire frequency range.Sound absorption class B (αw = 0.8)

The 2 RAUWORKS front lifting door module is particularly suitable for the flexible and visual shielding as required thanks to the convenient and continuous height adjustment. It therefore allows variable zoning in open spaces.

RAUWORKS front – acoustic variantThe textile variant: the lifting door module covered with fabric is particularly suitable for individual shielding and absorption as required and as a pin board for spontaneous meetings.

All RAUWORKS front modules – irrespective of whether it is the acoustic or whiteboard variant – are fitted with an acoustically effective fabric covering on the reverse.

On the one hand, the specific design of the system in connection with the system thickness ensures a more efficient sound absorption in the near field, on the other hand, the recommended system height of approximately 70 cm prevents the sound from spreading to the adjacent colleague on double workplaces.

Thanks to this, RAUWORKS achieves a better acoustic performance than thinner, smaller systems.The versatile configuration options as well as the possibility to print or the individual colour selection of the changeable fabrics make the system a flexible companion in the office, which always ensures the necessary peace and quiet.

The acoustically efficient 1 RAUWORKS screen desk screen system was specially developed for the use in double workstations. It stands out with its flexible shielding thanks to individually height- adjustable screen elements, which allow a problem-free communication with a colleague when lowered and undisturbed working when lifted.
