People love to ride the colorful streetcars.
Portland, Oregon is America’s “Streetcar Town.”
The Portland Streetcar company opened in 2001.

First, horses pulled the streetcars on city streets.
People have been riding streetcars since the 1800s.
Then the streetcars were put on railroad tracks.
In the 1880s, electric power replaced the horses.
