Artificial Intelligence in the 4IRAfrican InsightsShort Learning Programme Short Learning Programme

REGISTRATION NOW OPENAll students and staff members at the University of Johannesburg can now enrol for, and complete, the following short learning programmes:

(1) Artificial Intelligence in the 4IR: an introduction to artificial intelligence(AI), its applications, and its implications for society and the future of workin the Fourth Industrial Revolution (4IR).

(2) African Insights: an introduction to the intellectual traditions anddebates in Africa.

The programmes are free and fully online. A digital certificate will be issued on successful completion which may be viewed and shared with third parties or possible employers through the UJ Digital Certificate platform. For currently-registered UJ students, this achievement will also appear on your academic record. Both programmes are exciting, stimulating and relevant.

HOW TO REGISTER1. Log in to uLink: https://ulink.uj.ac.za/

- For students, use your student number to sign in.

- For staff members, use your username to sign in.

2. Go to ‘Online Courses’ on the homepage.

3. Explore ‘African Insights’ or ‘Artificial Intelligence in the 4IR’.

4. Register for the course by clicking on ‘register’ at the bottom on the page.

5. Await an email from uLink which will provide instructions on how to accessthe course.

REGISTRATION GUIDE:STEP-BY-STEP INSTRUCTIONS

STEP 1: Go to uLink: https://ulink.uj.ac.za/

STEP 2: Log in to uLink using your credentials.

• If you are a student, use your student number.

• If you are a staff member, use your staff username.

STEP 3: Click on ‘Online Courses’ on the uLink landing page.

STEP 4: Click on your preferred course for more information.

STEP 5: Read the information about the course and click on ‘register’ at the bottom of the page.

STEP 6: This notification will pop up on uLink. Await an email from uLink with instructions on how to access the course.

STEP 7: Read the email received from the uLink.Follow the instructions carefully.

STEP 8: Follow the instructions listed in the email and select the course from your Blackboard courses.

STEP 9: Start reading from the ‘Welcome’ section and navigate all course folders. Content is listed in chronological order.

STEP 10: Naviage the course icons listed on the top of the course page. Here, you will find course discussions, and you can message the course instructor(s).
