9–9:50 a.m.Energy Storage–What Does the Future Look Like? Energy storage is becoming an important component of the renewable energy revolution. Currently, battery storage is a popular product that enables commercial customers to mitigate the effects of peak demand pricing. Tomorrow it looks like battery storage will also play an important role in developing micro-grids, providing public utilities with an emergency energy source, and in serving the needs of residential customers. Come hear about what developers think the future looks like for energy storage technologies. Hear about the issues they envision and currently face in connection with making this new technology financially feasible. Learn how energy storage transactions work, how they are underwritten and evaluated by developers as they work to develop projects to meet the energy storage needs of California’s investor-owned utilities, commercial and residential customers alike.
