o Illustrate the resources Children’s Hospital Colorado provides staff to combat the effects of compassion fatigue and build personal resiliency

o Explore ways of using reflective practice in daily work with self, colleagues, patients, and families

o Participants will learn simple mindfulness meditation exercises that they can use to be more aware of their patterns of thinking and behavior.

o Discuss how to use mindfulness reflection practices to reduce stress, find more peace, and increase feelings of happiness

o Identify four components in care giver self-development (self-reflection, self-assessment, self-evaluation, self-care)

o Discuss the benefits of a reflective writing in dealing with ongoing emotional cost of caring for others

o Examine how role models experienced unclear boundaries and now support others to have Self Compassion and understand how to create healthy boundaries that minimize anxiety and stress
