Tuscany is a land of art and culture, home of very ancient cultures, cradle of occidental civilization

and Italian language. Here the traveller can live a unique experience, in close contact with a huge and widespread historical and artistic heritage, able to join beauty, richness and variety; he can discover the

values of a history that speaks, enchants and reflects through its people, welcoming and discreet at the same time, in love with their land, able to transform daily work and landscape care into real forms of art. Native land of geniuses who left an incomparable fortune to all humankind: Galileo Galilei, Giacomo

Puccini, Leonardo da Vinci and Michelangelo are only some of the great Tuscan masters of art and science. Visit Tuscany is a unique experience to discover the homes of great artists, aristocratic residences or cathedrals of faith, feeling a nature and a land with several UNESCO world heritage sites.

Florence enchants tourists with its treasures, from Middle ages to Renaissance: Palazzo Vecchio and the Uffizi, the cathedral with the dome by Brunelleschi, the Galleria dell’accademia that hosts the authentic David statue, made by Michelangelo with the original white marble from carrara; these are only some of the timeless masterpieces of the native town of Dante alighieri. Pisa, with its famous Leaning tower in such a beautiful square

to be called “of the Miracles”. Siena, town of the Palio, an ex-traordinary example of medieval architecture perfectly preserved. Lucca stands out for its city walls, almost untouched, dating back to the sixteenth century, its histori-cal centre and villas; Arezzo with its Piazza Grande and the fres-coes by Piero della Francesca. Everywhere can be discovered fabulous proofs of the civilizations that inhabited this land: the mys-terious Etruscans who lived on the

hill of Fiesole, from where there is also a fabolous view of Florence; Volterra, whose tuff walls store important finds; the archaeologi-cal sites of the necropolis on the coast of Livorno and in Maremma near Grosseto; the towers and the medieval city walls of san Gimignano and Monteriggioni, the villages of chianti and Val D’or-cia, the castles of casentino and Lunigiana. then, great architec-tonical buildings that reminds of the Renaissance greatness, such

as the Fortezza Medicea in Livor-no or the ideal city of Pienza. Each corner hides treasures that make unique their historical centers: Pistoia and Prato, where streets and squares are places to meet and discover high-quality craftsmanship, symbol of tuscan artistic creativity in different pro-ductions. Parish churches, hermitages and abbeys let the visitor recover the value of silence and contem-plation; cultural and traditional

events are the proof of the ar-tistic passion of this land, once scene of great dynasties, such as the Medici and the Lorena; beautiful patrons, great collec-tors and tycoons who, during the centuries, were born in tuscany or make it their chosen country, such as Frederick stibbert, Her-bert Percy Horne or the acton. We have also to thank them if, today, the collections and muse-ums of tuscany can boast unique masterpieces all over the world.

But tuscany is not only big cities. Many small villages deserve a vis-it, for their ancient harbors or un-touched city walls, medieval tow-ers and castles, historical centers rich of legends and artisanal workshops, where ancient tech-niques and skills are preserved. In tuscany there are 50 small vil-lages famous for their beauty and unique features, but it is enough to have a look around to find many other suggestive places.
