Greetings from Region IV of the National Society of Black Engineers. It is my honor and privilege to invite your
company to sponsor the founding region of the largest student-run organization in the world. Known as the “Mother
Region”, Region IV has over 8,500 members, each of them going above and beyond their duty to fulfill the NSBE mission,

About Region IV:
Region IV consists of Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, Minnesota, Ohio, and
Wisconsin, Central Canada, and East and Central Africa.
Region IV is the home of the founding chapter of the National Society of Black
Engineers (Purdue University).
Region IV has the largest population of NSBE members of the six regions with
more than 8,800 members.

Regional Leadership Conference (RLC) Thursday, August 12-15, 2010
Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology Terre Haute, IN
This is an opportunity for your company to be the first to interact with and possibly recruit the leaders in Region IV.
The goal of this conference is to stimulate and develop the potential of our members to become leaders within NSBE and beyond. In accordance with our mission, this conference will enhance the participants’ pursuit of excellence in their academic and professional careers, as well as in community involvement. RLC workshops will deal with Time Management, Business Etiquette, Organizational Logistics, Leadership Position training, Strategic Planning, and Chapter Development. Deadline for sponsoring this conference is July 30.

Business Etiquette Luncheon The Business Etiquette Luncheon is an event designed to help NSBE students learn the proper business etiquette while out with potential employers and networking associates.
Sponsorship Costs: $3,000
Total Sponsors Needed: 1
Benefits: This event provides the sponsor with an opportunity to mentor and network with the leadership of NSBE, maximizing the sponsors overall visibility among prime perspective candidates. Sponsors will be able to provide a speaker to address the leadership. Sponsor’s name will be listed in the as the official sponsor of this event. Sponsor will receive four reserved seats at the closing reception.
RLC Business Clipboards Padded clipboards provide the leadership with supplies to efficiently record key skills and abilities necessary to uphold the Society’s mission within their chapter and their leadership position. Sponsorship Costs: $2,000 Total Sponsors Needed: 1 Benefits: Sponsor’s name and logo will appear on the clipboards used by the leaders, maximizing Sponsor’s branding and visibility to the chapter leadership throughout the entire duration of the leadership conference. Sponsor’s name will be listed on the RLC program as the official sponsor.
RLC Business Cards Professional NSBE business cards provide the leadership with supplies to efficiently and professionally network with the other leaders and notable persons they interact with at various professional events. Networking Reception The Networking Reception is an event designed to help NSBE students utilize the tools they have learned during the conference and network with fellow chapter leaders at other universities. Sponsorship Cost: $2,000 Total Sponsors Needed: 1 Benefits: This event provides the sponsor with an opportunity to network with the leadership of NSBE maximizing the sponsors overall visibility among prime perspective candidates. Sponsor will be able to get to know participants under a more casual atmosphere. Sponsor’s name will be listed as the official sponsor of this event. Sponsor will have the opportunity to address the membership.
Leadership Certification Lapel Pins Each participant that passes their Leadership Certification Exam will receive a National Society of Black Engineers leadership pin to accompany their certificate to mark their accomplishment and status as a certified NSBE leader. Sponsorship Cost: $500 Total Sponsors Needed: 1 Benefits: Sponsor will be able to provide a speaker at the ceremony which will maximize visibility among the attendees. Sponsor’s name will be listed on the RLC website as the official sponsor.
In Kind Donations - Promotional Bags The conference provides members with materials to commemorate their participation. Our goal is to provide every participant with a promotional bag for their attendance at the Regional Leadership Conference. Sponsorship Costs: $0.00 Total Sponsors Needed: 1 Benefit: Sponsor’s name and logo will be on promotional bags that attendees will receive. This will greatly increase sponsor’s visibility among the prime candidates. There will be no cost to the company if they already have bags produced with the company logo on them.

The Fall Regional Conference consists of several “mini-conferences”, which include the Pre-College Initiative (PCI) Mini-Conference, the Graduate School Conference, and the Professional Development Conference (PDC) (page 10). This combination into the overall conference to establishes a diverse mix of alumni, current, and future leaders. Pre-college students can learn about engineering professions via roundtable discussions, competitions, and interactions with collegiate and alumni members. Collegiate members can become skilled at test taking and time management, brush up on professional etiquette and financial management, learn about the importance of professional licensure, and pursue employment opportunities at the Career Fair. Professionals can acquire highly sought after certifications and skill sets while keeping up with new technologies in one of our many Special Interest Groups as well as network with each other and younger members.

Fall Regional Conference Opening Session
Opening Reception is the official session in which the membership is addressed as a whole at the Fall Regional Conference. Information pertinent to the Society is presented as well as the goals of Region IV for the year.
Sponsorship Costs: $9,000
Total Sponsors Needed: 2
Benefit: This is the first and greatest opportunity for sponsors to gain exposure to the membership. Sponsors will be able to provide a speaker during this event to address membership. Sponsors’ name will be listed in the FRC program as the official sponsor of this event. Sponsor will be allowed to display company banner. There will also be reserved seating available for four representatives including the speaker.
Chapter Presidents/Vice Presidents Mixer
The Chapter Presidents/Vice Presidents Mixer is a networking event that gives our chapter leaders the opportunity to get to know each other and share best practices.

Benefits: Sponsor’s name listed in the FRC program agenda as the official sponsor of the event. Corporate sponsors will have the chance to meet and speak with the chapter leaders during this event.
Business Etiquette Dinner
Business etiquette dinners are provided to educate members about the proper etiquette in a business setting such as an interview, working lunch, etc. The dinners are to be provided at two local restaurants near the FRC hotel. Sponsorship Cost: $3,000 Total Sponsors Needed: 1 Benefit: Sponsors will be able to provide a speaker during this event to address attendees. Their name will be listed in the FRC program as the official sponsor of this event. Sponsor will be allowed to display company banner. There will also be reserved seating for three (3) representatives.
Closing Banquet Awards Ceremony
The closing banquet and awards ceremony is a formal dinner in which the accomplishments of Region IV are celebrated. Awards are given for all competitions that were held during the conference. Sponsorship Cost: $30,000

Company and College Tours
Company and College Tours will be included in the FRC Agenda in order institute Pipeline Development for our members. Company Tours will allow members to learn and see first-hand how a company runs their business. This will aid in the development of our pre-college (high school), collegiate, and alumni members. College Tours will help or Pre-College Students (grades 6-12) learn what they need in order to prep for college.

Fall Conference Programs Book
The Fall Conference Programs Booklet will provide attendees with all programming events, sponsors, special guests, and pertinent society information.
Sponsorship Cost: $7,000
Total Sponsors Needed: 2
Benefits: Companies will be recognized as official sponsors for the Programs Book. Sponsoring companies will also receive one page of free advertisement as well as recognition at the Closing Banquet and Awards Ceremony.
Fall Conference Bags & Lanyards
The conference attendees will receive laptop/book bags as memorabilia for attending the conference with the NSBE logo, conference dates/location and sponsors name and logo. Sponsorship Cost: $7,000

Benefit: Sponsors’ name will appear on the conference bags and lanyards as well as sponsors’ logo. Sponsoring the conference bags and lanyards will increase the overall branding of the sponsors and increase the visibility of the sponsors for the duration of the conference and afterward.
Fall Conference Planning Committee and Volunteer T-Shirts The FRC Planning Committee and Conference Volunteers are in need of shirts to wear during the conference to be more visible to attendees who are in need of assistance or have questions.

Mr. and Mrs. Region IV
The Mr. & Mrs. Region IV Pageant is a fun way to recognize members for their scholastic achievements, community service, and dedication to NSBE. Interested members will submit an application to the FRC Special Events. The Pageant will consist of several segments including Contestant Intros, Professional Image & Lifestyle, Talent Competition, Evening Wear, and a Question & Answer Session. Prizes include a free trip to the NSBE National Convention and Book Scholarship.

In Kind Donations The conference provides members with a way to commemorate their participation. Our goal is to provide every participant with a T-Shirt, a Portfolio, Pens, etc.

Benefit: Sponsors will be able to place a logo on any shirt, portfolio, pens, and/or any other items provided. Members will most likely use the received materials for the duration of the conference thus making the sponsoring companies more visible to the membership.
Audio/Visual Needs In order to administer effective workshops and forums, the Fall Regional Conference Planning Committee request sponsorship for audio/visual equipment such as projectors, screens, poster boards, flip charts, etc. These tools will be used during general sessions, banquets, competitions, and workshops.

The NSBE Alumni Extension is the embodiment of the true NSBE pipeline that prepares an individual from the NSBE Jr.
level to Collegiate to become a Professional Engineer. The Professional Development Conference that is held during the
Fall Regional Conference serves a dual purpose for NSBE Alumni to accentuate and improve upon technical workplace
skills and reach back to the younger members to help them learn the skills they need to excel academically and move
into their career paths as well.

Professional Development Conference (PDC)
The Alumni Extension has a Professional Development Conference (PDC) during the Fall Regional Conference (FRC). This offers AE members the opportunity to network, exchange technical information, and discuss the business of the region. The AE members are able to participate as judges or guest speakers in several student competitions and workshops. This provides a great opportunity for student / alumni networking.
Sponsorship Cost: $5,000
Total Sponsors Needed: 5
Benefits: Sponsoring companies will be publicized at the event as well as in as The Circuit, the Region IV newsletter, and in the FRC Program book. Representatives will have the opportunity to attend and facilitate some workshops.
Technical Certification Workshops
The AE provides members with technical and professional development training at the PDC. The training tracks differ at each conference depending on the conference theme, but are applicable to all attendees. These workshops are also available to collegiate members focusing on the graduating seniors and community involvement.

Roundtable Seminars
A set of workshops focused on the key areas of professional development for technical professionals. AE members have the opportunity to learn more about their specific interests to assist them in making calculated career decisions. The potential topics for these workshops are Corporate Climate, Diversity in the Workplace, Telecommunications, Entrepreneurship, Environmental Protection, and How to Bridge the Gap between IT and Business.

Regional AE Chapter Roadshow
The AE Roadshow is an opportunity for the region IV Alumni Executive Board to travel to chapters within our region to facilitate face time with the collegiate and PCI students and increase membership and retention. Sponsorship Cost: $2,000

REGIONAL AWARDS
Awards presented to honor chapters and members for excellence in programming, working to achieve the mission of NSBE, and the objectives of the Alumni Extension. These awards serve as motivation for NSBE members to continue their service with the organization and strive for excellence.

MEMBERSHIP DRIVE Membership Drive Incentives support local chapters and member recruitment of engineers and scientists to become active, participating members of the Alumni Extension. Once members have been recruited, they are eligible to participate in NSBE programs to develop themselves technically and professionally. Membership Drives include incentives for both new members as well as existing members who refer new members. These recruitment incentive awards will be for chapters and individual members.

Program Sponsorship Opportunities
Alumni Extension Membership Program Professional membership is open to all professionals who hold a degree in engineering, computer science, math, and the
applied sciences. Creative, engaging, and interactive programs are the primary vehicles through which NSBE fulfills its
mission of creating engineers who excel academically, succeed professionally, and positively impact the community. We
provide a variety of programs in the following core areas to support Alumni Extension endeavors: Entrepreneurship,
Technical Excellence, Professional Development, Community Impact, College Initiative, Pre-College Initiative, and Chapter
Development.

Professional Development Conference (PDC)
