BioFresh – Maximising the life of fresh produce

Creative cooking with family and friends is a new trend in modern cuisine. And nowadays enjoying healthy meals is simple to achieve as fresh food provides all the vitamins, mineral nutrients and trace

elements our bodies need everyday. It is important not only to buy really fresh food, but also to ensure it’s perfectly stored at home. Since not all types of food need the same temperature and humidity conditions, Liebherr has come up with the additional temperature zone – BioFresh – where many types of food can be kept fresh even longer than in a traditional refrigerator compartment.

In the BioFresh compartments food retains its healthy vitamins, aroma and appetising appear ance even longer than in a conventional fridge. Through its advanced technology the tem perature is accurately kept at just above 0°C. Each drawer can be used individually and provides ideal humidity.

DrySafe: meatLow humidity plus a temperature just above freezing are ideal for storing dairy products and meat. The BioFresh-DrySafe constantly maintains this climate.

DrySafe: fishFish retain their delicate flavour and appetising appearance much longer when stored at low humidity and at a temperature slightly above 0°C.

HydroSafe: fruit and vegetablesFruit and vegetables are best stored in the HydroSafe, which has a higher humidity level. Precision electronics maintain the temperature very accurately at slightly above 0°C, so that frosting of food is prevented.

Fruit and vegetables should be unwrapped before storage in the HydroSafe.

The BioFresh-Safes can be used as either a HydroSafe or a DrySafe by adjusting the humidity control panel (model specific). Fish and meat should remain wrapped when stored in the DrySafe.

Each drawer can be used individually and provides ideal humidity – HydroSafes with high humidity or DrySafes with low humidity – for a versatile storage solution.

The food storage centre CBNes 6256 with its elegant Frenchdoor concept is a focal point in any kitchen, open or closed. The interior presents a host of innovative ideas. Take the LED interior light and the

automatic IceMaker with fixed water connection in the freezer compartment, for example. Or the two BioFresh drawers, which keep food fresh for up to three times longer. Accurate and independent temperature control of the fridge and freezer compartments is ensured by DuoCooling: two separately adjustable cooling circuits. There is no air exchange between the refrigerator and freezer compartment, so that odours cannot be transferred and the stored food is prevented from drying out.

BioFresh-Plus with separate electronics provides yet more flexibility for tailored storage. In the BioFresh-Plus

appliance, the upper BioFresh safe can be set to the exact degree needed for different food types: 0°C

for dairy products and meat in the DrySafe, fruits and vegetables in the HydroSafe. As the storage life of fish

and seafood can be extended further at a temperature of -2°C, the new BioFresh-Plus can be set to this lower

temperature, compared to the standard BioFresh setting of 0°C.

BioFresh

At a temperature of just over 0°C, large quantities of food, such as vegetables, fruits, fish, dairy product and meat, can be stored in the spacious BioFresh drawers kept fresh even longer than in a conventional refrigerator compartment.

Freezing

The NoFrost freezer compartment with automatic IceMaker offers a continuous supply of ice. Food is frozen with refrigerated re-circulated air and the humidity is dissipated. This keeps the freezer compartment free of ice preventing the food from frosting over. Defrosting is no longer necessary.

Multi-temperature wine compartment

The multi -temperature wine compartment has two independently adjus table zones for storing wine at the exact temperature required, between +5ºC and +20ºC. Red wines, white wines and champagne can be stored together at their inidividual optimum drinking temperatures.

The unit door is fixed directly onto the appliance door.

Front ventilation

The ventilation of under-counter refrigerators and freezers works according to the following principle; the air for cooling the compressor is taken and released at the plinth of the appliance. The advantage; ventilation grilles in the cover and worktop are no longer needed. This saves time and effort for installation and preserves the attractive appearance of the working area.

How to find the right under-counter appliance

By fitting the fridge and freezer under an existing worktop and behind the unit door, you can create a uniform look in your kitchen. The unit door is attached permanently to the

appliance with the door-on-door method. Ventilation and air extraction are provided through the plinth and no ventilation grill is required in the work surface. The UIK 1620 is suitable for Side-by-Side installation in conjunction with the UIG 1313 under-counter freezer for integrated use. Air fl ow on Liebherr under-counter appliances enters
