GOD’S WORDS FOR TODAY (Mt. 9:14-15)
The Holy Gospel according to St. Matthew Then the disciples of John came to him, saying, "Why do we and the Pharisees fast, but your disciples do not fast?" And Jesus said to them, "Can the wedding guests mourn as long as the bridegroom is with them? The days will come, when the bridegroom is taken away from them, and then they will fast. REFLECTION: What kind of fasting is pleasing to God? Fasting can be done for a variety of reasons - to gain freedom from some bad habit, addiction, or vice, to share in the suffering of those who go without, or to grow in our hunger for God and for the things of heaven. Basil the Great wrote: "Take heed that you do not make fasting to consist only in abstinence from meats. True fasting is to refrain from vice. Shred to pieces all your unjust contracts. Pardon your neighbors. Forgive them their trespasses." Do you hunger to know God more, to grow in his holiness, and to live the abundant life of grace he offers you? PRAYER: Come Lord, work upon us, set us on fire and clasp us close, be fragrant to us, draw us to your loveliness, let us love, let us run to you. Amen.
Prayer of St. Gertrude Eternal Father, I offer Thee the Most Precious Blood of Thy Divine Son, Jesus, in union with the masses said throughout the world today, for all the holy souls in purgatory, for sinners everywhere, for sinners in the universal church, those in my own home and within my family. Amen.

FROM THE INSTITUTIONAL SUSTAINABILITYY OFFICE: Strategic Direction on Creating Sustainable Futures
Did you know that plastic can take up to 500 years to decompose? If you didn't, now you know. So the question remains, why throw them in non-designated places if you can recycle them? Since reuse is a step up from recycling, repurposing plastics we already have, is an excellent habit to get into if we want to do our share to help save the environment. Don’t just throw it away, use it to make something awesome. Creative and functional craft projects will transform the humble plastics into everything from useful storage to great home decor.
Let's take responsibility for our Communities, it's our responsibility to protect the environment 44 Remember it starts with you. Sustainability is an evolving practice. It’s a commitment, a lifestyle change.

Did you know that the Pringles Chips are Hyperbolic Paraboloids. They were made in that shape for sturdier
and easier stacking. The saddle surface makes the chips placed smoothly on top of each other. As for the chip that is placed at the bottom of the can (tube), it is able to retain its shape without breaking because the net weight of the chips does not usually exceed 150 grams.
