Project 4704 Land Boundary Linkage

The problem: lack of referential topologyDPI’s custodial datasets are not linked to Landgate’s current cadastral boundaries; so when Landgate moves and improves, DPI stays put.

The solution: Positional Accuracy Improvement (PAI)A software solution that will realign DPI’s data to match Landgate’s data now and into the future.

PID produced Oct 08, funding approval Dec 08 Initial research into the solutions available and testing

completed (SJ) Software vendors trialled Bunbury test area. Cost estimates more than anticipated. Interim final report to Project Steering Group. Project ready to commence Jul 09. Tender process initiated. The remainder of the project is to:

(1) organise the orderly processing and transition of the various DPI custodial data sets and

(2) prompt Landgate to escalate its Spatial Upgrade program so we optimise our opportunity.
