Food Pantries In addition to nutrition assistance programs available through federal, state and local governmental agencies, numerous neighbor-hood Food Pantries and Food Banks serve residents in need of food assistance in North Central Florida. An online search of food pantries for your location will produce a list of possible sources of continuous or emergency food and grocery items. Some also provide assistance with clothing and the cost of utilities or rent. If you contact a food pantry for assistance, ask about eligibility requirements, the extent of assistance available, operating hours and which documents you may be required to supply. If you need help with this process, talk to your Hospice Social Worker, who can provide a list of food pantries that serve your county, help you with applications and direct you to other agencies that may be able to provide the assistance you need.
