Food and Nutrition Research Institute Proficiency Testing Laboratories (FNRI-
PTL)
Accredited by the Department of Science and Service—Bureau of Laboratory
Accreditation, Bangkok, Thailand to ISO/IEC 17043:2010 as Food Chemical proficiency
testing provider with over ten (10) years of experience in organizing PT focusing on
nutrition labeling requirements and serving more than 25 local and international
laboratories per round. In addition to PT schemes, FNRI-PTL provides trainings and
seminars for its participants to address their needs for improvement and continuous
development.
This manual explains the ways on how to use the portal in order to get the most out of
our vast resources.
About the Reference Material Portal
The Reference Material Portal is a tool for growth and development of the Food and
Nutrition Research Laboratory – Proficiency Testing Laboratory (FNRI-PTL). The
integration of the existing RMs to the iFNRI will increase the accessibility of customers
to locally available reference materials and will provide faster and more affordable
transactions between the customers and the laboratory provider. The improvement and
upgrading of existing RMs and PT schemes portal will provide a cost-effective, fast, and
convenient access on ways to improve the accuracy of analytical results by customers/
local testing laboratories; thus, maximizing efficiency and increasing generated income
from the implemented RM/PT portal.
Organization of the Manual
This manual is arranged in the following order: General Information of the developed
RM Portal; the 2nd part provides the general walkthrough of the system from log in to log
out; the 3rd part provides the other important parts such as Frequently Asked Questions
(FAQs), Contacts Us, and User’s Account, respectively.

Getting started
Signing up
The user must create an account and provide all the needed information. Click
Signup menu on the upper right navigational bar to go to the page. Provide your
accessible email in signing up. After the fields have been filled out, the user must
click ―Signup‖ button to create the account.
*Note: The user can use the existing account made on the Proficiency
Testing Portal Website.

Login
This page requires the user to fill out the following fields (existing username,
password) and click the ―Login‖ button. In this page, the user may click
―Remember Me‖ to stay logged in.
The user may also reset their account password in case forgotten through
clicking ―reset it‖ hyperlink. This will lead the user to the Request password reset
page. The system will require the user of an accessible email which was used
during signup to send a link where the password can be change.
Below is an example of an email sent by the system to the user’s email address.
The email contains a link that will redirect the user to the Reset password page.

In the Reset password page, the user will put their new password before clicking
the ―Save‖ button.
After login, the user will be redirected to the Home Page.

Home
The Home Page contains pictures shown in the photo slider, introduction about
reference materials, properties of FNRI reference materials, the uses of FNRI
reference materials and why do they choose FNRI RMs.
Available RM
The Available RM Menu is found on the navigational bar. In this page the user
can browse the available list of Reference Materials through the Search Field. It
also has a left side menu which sorts the available RMs by year.

Click the specific reference material to show the details of each which includes
the measurands, the ―Add to cart‖ button, the price, the amount of sample, the
packaging and the downloadable and printable Certificate of Testing.

o Adding to cart
The user can add their chosen reference materials to their cart by simply
clicking the ―Add to cart‖ button. After clicking the button a modal will
appear where the user can put the quantity that will be ordered and click
―Submit‖. This will redirect the user to the My Cart page.
My Cart
The My Cart Menu is found on the navigational bar. My cart page has a list of the
reference materials that the user wants to purchase. It shows the matrices,
measurand, price, quantity, total per matrix and overall total. Discounts are also
provided for government laboratories. The user can edit or remove a reference
material through the action column. The user just needs to click the edit and a
modal will again appear for changes.
The user may proceed to checkout, continue shopping, or generate a
downloadable and printable quotation that can be used for reference by the
customer.

If the user chose to proceed to checkout, the user must click the ―Proceed to
Checkout‖ Button

Clicking the ―Continue Shopping‖ button will redirect the user to the Available RMs
page. The user may also proceed to checkout just by clicking the button at the lower
right portion of the page. The Check-out Order page will be shown where the Bank
Details of the FNRI is shown and the mode of payment and transport choices for the
user and click ―Proceed‖.
Checkout Information is shown after the process.
Order Status
o For Payment
The For Payment Sub Menu is found under the Order of status on the
navigational bar.
After checkout, the order is shown in the For payment sub menu. The page
shows the date of order, status/ action (where user can upload proof of
payment), matrices, measurand, price, quantity and total price.

The status/action menu shows an ―Upload Proof of Payment‖ Button if the user
chose courier as mode of transportation.
To upload the user must click the ―Upload Proof of Payment‖ button. Click
―choose file‖, browse for the proof of payment and click ―upload‖.
o Tracking

Once the proof of payment has been validated by the admin and already
dispatches the sample, the user may track it through the tracking system. The
Tracking Sub menu is found under the order of status menu.
The page shows the date of order, matrices, measurand, courier, tracking no.
(given by the admin) and the date of shipment. At the feedback column, the user
must send the feedback form to notify admin for the receipt of reference material.
The user just needs to click the pencil icon and will be redirected to the sample
receipt form page shown below.
If the sample received is damaged or not suitable for laboratory testing, the user
must indicate what matrix/ sample name and the quantity of sample to be
replaced on the Remarks field before clicking ―Save‖.

FAQ
This menu is where the user can find the answers to most of the users’
questions.
Contact Us
The Contact us page is where the user can find contact details of the FNRI-PTL
as well as fields that can be filled out by the user for inquiries.
User’s Account
The User Account Menu is found on the uppermost left part of the page. The
username is shown here. Under the user account are the manage account sub
menu, the update profile sub menu and the exit system which is logout.

o Manage Account
In the manage account, the user may change old password and user
name to a new one.
o Update Profile
The Update Profile submenu shows the details that were placed on each
field by the user which could be change or edited. After the changes the
user must click the ―Update‖ button to save the changes.
