You will need 3 balls of Hoooked Zpagetti (for a round rug with a width of approx. 120cm) and a 12mm crochet hook.

Step 1: Crochet a round piece for the top of the rugThe basis of the rug consists of 1 round crocheted piece with a diameter of approximately 50 cm. You start by making a slip knot followed by 5 chain stitches. Join the last chain stitch with the first chain stitch by using a slip stitch to form a ring. You will then continue with trebles.

Please note: when crocheting you can choose to pick up one loop or both loops of the stitch. If you pick up one loop, you will get a horizontal line as show in the picture above.

Increasing: You will now crochet 8 rounds. Round 1: crochet 12 trebles into the ring Round 2: crochet a turing chain of 3 and proceed with 3 trebles into a stitch, followed by a slip stitch, repeat 7 times = 24 stitches Round 3: crochet 2 trebles into every second stitch and crochet 1 treble into the other stitches = 36 stitches Round 4: crochet 2 trebles into every third stitch and crochet 1 treble into the other stitches = 48 stitches Round 5:crochet a chain of 5, skip 2 stitches and attach onto the 3rd stitch of previous row with a slip stitch, then crochet 5, skip 2 etc.. repeat this round-about.You will now get loops. Round 6: Crochet 3 double crochet around each loop and finish with a slip stitch

Close every round with a slip stitch. When closing you can also join a new colour.

Trebles

An important attribute of Zpagetti is that the width and texture of the yarn varies so it is important to regularly check the size and shape of the floor item that you are making.
