Reducing Your Carbon Footprint
By: Dylan Evans
What is a carbon Footprint?
• A carbon footprint is how much total greenhouse gas an organization, or even a single person emits.
• These gases can be made through, transportation, land clearance, and even consumption of food, fuels, and manufactured goods.
Facts
• A typical mid-sized sedan produces 9,500 pounds of carbon dioxide each year. While a current hybrid car produces less than half of that annually.
• Converting the average household to wind or solar power saves 22,000 pounds of carbon dioxide each year.
• And preserving an average acre of forest in the united states saves more than 200,000 pounds of carbon dioxide per year.
