Maintenance-free shock absorbing coupling.
Robust gearboxes.
Precision slide base allows easy adjustmentof gearbox when changing roll position.
Hardened steel teeth easily removed.
Safety interlock proximity switch.
Rolls are wear-resistant iron alloy.
Hinged covers allow easy access to rolls, teeth, liners, and scrapers.
EASE OF MAINTENANCE
All wear components are readily accessible through convenient doors at each end of the primary structure and relatively easy to replace. The Steele attention to detail means that time and expense has been minimized for virtually all maintenance procedures. Our exclusive notched keeper shaft for teeth is just one example:
BUILT TO LAST
The primary frame is built from heavy ductile iron castings (nominal section thickness not less than 1.25") and the base construction features 8" wide flange beams. Gearboxes are oversized with high thermal ratings for lower operating temperature, longer life, and increased lubrication efficiency. All hopper liners are 3/4" thick abrasion-resistant steel.
LOWER MAINTENANCE COSTS THROUGHOUT YOUR GRINDING PLANT
If a primary crusher is not producing a small enough particle size, the secondary crushers can be overburdened. By producing a small (less than 1") product, the Steele Primary Crusher can actually lower maintenance costs in secondary crushing operations.
One keeper shaft retainsan entire row of crusherroll teeth.
Rotate and slide the shaftto align notches on shaft and teeth - remove any or all teeth in a row.
There's even a special tool for
removing teeth impacted with dirt.
Attention to detail makes this the mostproductive, easiest to maintain primarycrusher you can buy.
The design philosophy of the J.C. Steele Primary Crusher is simple: ease of maintenance, versatility, and longevity. By combining traditional conservative engineering practices with innovative design and materials, Steele's engineers have developed a machine that minimizes maintenance downtime and maximizes the service life of all components. Whether changing teeth, adjusting rollers, or simply enjoying higher overall productivity, you'll discover our attention to detail throughout.
All liners are replaceableabrasion-resistant steel plate.
Roll spacing adjustable from 1/4" to 4".Can be adjusted to compensate for wear.
28PC feed roll knives for choke feeding and large lumps.
Adjustable scrapers compensate for wear and roll positioning.
Shock absorbing bearing assemblies also provide overload protection.
Shims can be repositioned for roll spacing.
Proximity switch for overload shut-down protection.
FEEDING AND CRUSHING
OVERLOAD PROTECTION
Crushing rolls are assembled from aus- tempered ductile iron disks mounted on an 8 inch square shaft. Alloy steel teeth are mounted on the disks and designed for easy removal. Special teeth can be specified for your individual needs.
All roll shafts are fitted with large spherical roller bearings, retained by tapered push sleeves. Special ductile iron bearing housings allow for roll spacing adjustment (to change output size or adjust for wear) and spring loading of the rolls to absorb shock. Bearing seals are grease purged, with multiple radial lip seals.
The optional feed roll takes a bite out of large lumps and allows for choke feeding.
An integral system monitors torsional loading of all roll shafts and the bending loads on the two crushing rolls. If an overload is detected, the motors are shut down.
