3. Hand out instrumental lesson letters for those inter-
ested
4. Brain Gym—Hand / eye coordination
5. Set medium tempo and pupils march to the beat
6. Change tempos to very slow and then very fast
7. Introduce the word Pulse—every piece of music has a
pulse
8. In a circle, pupils now try to feel a variety of pulses
without a backing beat—slow, fast and medium
9. Pupils now clap their first name in time to the pulse
10. Introduce the word Rhythm—words automatically cre-
ate long sounds and short sounds
11. On the Piano play high and low sounds to introduce
Pitch—When we combine all these elements we create
music
