Lighting under the tent roof disguised the true nature of the space. The white roof was also used as a projection screen. After considering the addition of a tent to the back of the building to enlarge the lobby , it was determined the cost and city regulations exceeded the benefit of the limited extra square footage . Solution: On discovering the existence of raw space off the lobby, currently housing a golf school, we reconsidered the tentwe increased the size and brought it into the building where the City of Boston didn’t need to be involved.

Entrance Corridor

Iced martinis and backlit screens were the only

visions guests saw en route to the tent

Red lighting up-lit the walls of the space to create a red glow in the

tent. Lighting under the tent roof disguised the true nature of the

space. The white roof was also used as a projection screen.
