Lighting under the tent roof disguised the true nature of the space. The white roof was also used as a projection screen. After considering the addition of a tent to the back of the building to enlarge the lobby , it was determined the cost and city regulations exceeded the benefit of the limited extra square footage . Solution: On discovering the existence of raw space off the lobby, currently housing a golf school, we reconsidered the tent—we increased the size and brought it into the building where the City of Boston didn’t need to be involved.
