Smt. P.N.Doshi Women’s College was established in 1960 and is managed bySPRJ Kanyashala Trust and conducted by Sarvajanik Education Society. Themotto of our Institution, "Sa Vidya Ya Vimuktaye" (That education whichliberates), was conceived at a time when liberation was nowhere near thehorizon of Indian woman's life in general. The college strives to promotehealthy all round development of girls, who are the future of our country. Thetrust manages Junior College, Degree College and Post Graduate Departments.

Life Skills have been defined by the World Health Organization (WHO) as“abilities for adaptive and positive behaviour that enable individuals to dealeffectively with the demands and challenges of everyday life”. Theyrepresent the psycho-social skills that determine valued behaviour andinclude skills such as problem-solving and critical thinking, to personal skillssuch as self-awareness, and interpersonal skills. Focusing on themthroughout one’s life will get the individual ready to move up and keep himworking at the top of his game in his current role. Based on this premise theIQAC has organized this national webinar for the office staff with the aim tohelp participants:

A B O U T T H E S P E A K E R

Dr. Murli Desai, MA and Ph.D. in social work, and former Professor atthe Tata Institute of Social Sciences. Subsequently, she worked as aSenior Visiting Fellow in the Department of Social Work at theNational University of Singapore and Professor in the Department ofSocial Welfare, at the Seoul National University of South Korea. Withher proactive, creative and comprehensive approach, Dr. Desai hasmade significant contributions to the fields of social work and socialdevelopment in general, and in the specific areas of family studies,childhood and adolescence, and old age. She is also a prolific writerand has authored nine books, edited eight books, guest edited 11special issues of national and international journals.
