Solid, state-of-the-art shredder technology
Metso Minerals offers several lines of Lindemannshredders for the cost-effective processing of light tomedium-heavy mixed metal scrap, including bales.From the large numbers of Lindemann shredder plantswe have already supplied we know exactly how ashredder must be designed and engineered for long-term economic operation.
Low specific energy requirements, high productionfigures, flexible operating capabilities, outstandingavailability and a cost-saving maintenance and repairconcept result in favorable operating costs for the
Lindemann shredder series. As production behaviorsuch as particle size and scrap density is regulated byhydraulically operated devices, product quality de-mands can be set at the touch of a button.
Appropriate measures are taken to comply with thelimits on dust, noise and vibrations specified by thenational authorities. And as far as special projectrequirements are concerned, we have developed pro-cesses which completely eliminate the need forshredder de-dusting.

High operating reliabilitySeveral protective features increase availability andprevent or minimize the risk of damage due to over-loading by the unavoidable unshreddable pieces ofscrap.
• Hydraulic locking of the rotor bearings enables therotor to escape in the event of solid pieces betweenthe rotor and the housing getting bottom.
• A hydraulically operated ejection door enables solidunshreddables to be removed during operation.
• The hydraulic anvil clamping device eliminates theneed for regular checking and tightening of anvilscrews, which tend to loosen under continuousimpact stress. Furthermore, the hydraulic devicesimplifies anvil changing.
• Our special Lindemann “long-life caps” protect thehammer pins as well as the rotor disks and increasethe flywheel effect of the rotor, so that fewer energypeaks occur.

Thehydraulic housing locking makes it easy to lock andunlock the middle and lower housing sections. Thehydraulic device for disassembling the hammer axlesspeeds up hammer exchange. And our rotor liftingdevice makes for easy access to lower parts of themachine.
The PLC Telediagnosis via Teleservice, which is availableas an optional extra, offers quick assistance withtrouble shooting. Problems involving electronics and software can be solved without delay by ourservice engineer from his office. Moreover, the rightexpert and the necessary spare part can be identifiedin the event of mechanical problems.
