Therefore, we have established an effective recycling systems such as collection route of parts and materials from production processes and end-of- life vehicles, in-house recycling plant operation, reuse of collected products, and systematization of sales route of green products. CalsonicKansei recycling system In 2003 FY, we have completed technical development collecting precious metal from catalyst as high-grade resources. We add precious metal collection from catalyst as a new resources item. 2003 FY activities Outline of recycling business To maintain limited earth resources, CalsonicKansei is consistently performing the recycling activities, considering them as voluntary environment conservation. Starting by a recycling plant establishment in 1999, we have made total development from the establishment of basic research, experimental study, and recycling technique to the operation about 3R (Reduce, Reuse, and Recycle). We have established "Atsugi first/second recycling plants" in Atsugi Plant to rebuild compressor and radiator for car air conditioner and to collect precious metal from metal catalyst. "Yoshimi recycling plant" in Yoshimi Plant is recycling and developing plastic of instrument panel. 1999 Started separate experimental test of end-of-life vehicle parts and rebuilding of compressor for car air conditioner. 2000 Started rebuilding of radiator. 2001 Established "Atsugi recycling second plant" to shift and develop radiator rebuilding. 2002 Started plastic recycling of instrument panel. 2003 Started collecting of precious metal from vehicle metal catalyst.
