announced the appointment of Surendra Rosha as

Chief Executive Officer for HSBC India.

• Rosha, currently HSBC’s Head of Financial

Institutions Group (FIG) for Asia-Pacific, will

succeed Jayant Rikhye.

RBI asset quality review finds over 200 bad loans

आरबीआई संपडत्त की गुणवत्ता की समीक्षा में 200 से अडिक बैि िोन

• The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has asked lenders

to act on a list of over 200 companies that have

defaulted on their loans to some banks but were not

classified as non-performing assets (NPAs) by

others.

• The directive comes over two years after former RBI

governor Raghuram Rajan started a clean-up of bank

balance sheets by a similar asset quality review

(AQR).

• The accounts that the RBI wants to be recognised as

NPAs include many companies in the power sector.

• In case the RBI asks banks to classify the loans as

NPAs with retrospective effect, it will have severe

implications on the their balance sheets.

• भारर्ीय ररजवय बैंक एनपीए के रूप में पहचाने जाने वािे

खार्ों में डबजिी के्षत्र में कई कंपडनयां शाडमि हैं।

• यडद भारर्ीय ररजवय बैंक बैंकों को पूवयव्यापी प्रभाव के

साथ एनपीए के रूप में ऋण वगीकृर् करने के डिए

कहर्ा है, र्ो उनके बैिेंस शीट पर गंभीर प्रभाव पडेंगे।

• The RBI has improved its ability to unearth hidden

bad loans in banks on the back of the Central

Repository of Information on Large Credits

(CRILIC) — a registry of corporate loans started by

Rajan before demitting office. Banks are

periodically required to upload the status of all loans

of over Rs 5 crore to the CRILIC.

• आरबीआई ने सेंट्र ल रिपॉजिट्िी ऑफ़ इनफारे्मशन

ऑन लािज के्रजिट््स (CRILC) पर सूचना के डिए खोजकरने की अपनी क्षमर्ा में सुिार डकया है - कायायियछोडने से पहिे राजन द्वारा शुरू डकए गए कॉपोरेट ऋण

Indian Railways launches ‘Mission Satyanishtha’

• Indian Railways organized a programme on Ethics in

Public Governance and Launched “Mission

Satyanishtha” at a daylong event held at National Rail

Museum, New Delhi.

• Sh. Piyush Goyal, Minister of Finance & Corporate

Affairs, Railways & Coal, administered the oath to

the officers and supervisors at the programme.

• The first-of-its-kind event was inaugurated

by Ashwani Lohani, Chairman, Railway Board. The

Satyanishtha mission aims to sensitise all railway

employees about the need to adhere to good ethics

and to maintain high standards of integrity at work.

Rajasthan signs MoU for the 1st Cow Sanctuary in state

• Chief minister Vasundhara Raje signed MOU with a

local trust based in Bikaner recently for setting up

state's first sancturay.

• Rajasthan Government signed an MoU with a

private trust Sohanlalji Buladeviji Ojha Gaushala

Samiti to build its first 'Cow Sanctuary', a shelter for

10000 cows.

• The cow sanctuary will be spread over an area of

more than 220 hectares in Bikaner district.

• This will be the first cow sanctuary in Rajasthan and

will be situated in Bikaner’s Napasar.

• मुख्यमंत्री वसंुिरा राजे ने हाि ही में राज्य के पहिे

• The first Nepal-India Think Tank Summit has begun

in Kathmandu to foster greater collaboration

and knowledge-sharing among the think tanks of the

two countries.
