bdht isasocialhousinglandlordbasedinBromsgrove,justsouthofBirmingham.Theorganisationownsandmanagesover4,300dwellings,whicharecomprisedofsocialandaffordablerent,marketrent,sharedownershipandmorespecialistaccommodation.bdhtalsomanageshomelessnessundercontractonbehalfoftheLocalAuthority.Weareastrong,wellrespectedandfinanciallyviableindependentbusiness.

WehaveanimportantrolewithinthecommunitiesofBromsgroveandthesurroundingareasandwearestronglycommittedtoremainingindependent.Theorganisationwascreatedin2004whenitpurchasedtheoriginalstockfromBromsgroveDistrictCouncil.Sincethattimebdhthasbeenveryactiveinbuildingnewhomes,increasingthetotalstockbyover10%inthelast5yearsprovidingmoreaffordablehousingsolutionsforpeopleinneed.

Thebusinessisregisteredasacharityandoperatesonanot-for-profitbasis,butisfirstandforemostacommercialbusiness,albeitonethatfocusesuponsocialoutcomes.

bdhtemploys150peopleandisdedicatedtoprovidingexcellentservicesthroughbeingacommittedlearningorganisation.Mostofourseniorandmiddleleadershavebeendevelopedwithinthebusinessandwehaveamajorcommitmenttoidentifyingtransferableskillswithinouremployeesandcreatingopportunitiesforindividualstogrow.
