RECRUITMENT [smiths] 2013/2014

We are looking for a dedicated team to help us design and edit the new [smiths] magazine. Being part of the [smiths] team looks great on your CV, and will be fun socially and creatively too. We will support you in any way we can – we’re here to help you build on your experience, portfolios and skills.

• Chief Designer – A talented designer who can continue the beautiful design work of the magazine and manage a team of Sub-Designers. This student will be working very closely with us and will be absolutely crucial to the magazine.

• Sub-Designers – Working with the Chief Designer, creating original, exciting design-work.

• Web Designer and Manager – The website needs to be completely transformed and we’re keen to offer an internship in return for this. We need someone who knows social media inside out, also helping to keep the website, twitter, Facebook and instagram up to date.

• [smiths] TV Producer – We’re looking to expand [smiths] T.V – aiming to include a mixture

of serious journalism, interviews and fun film pieces.

Finally, we need a team of sub-editors to ensure that the magazine is producing exciting and professional journalism.

• Arts Sub-Editor • Food and Drink Sub-Editor • Fashion Sub-Editor • Music Sub-Editor • Literary and Creative Writing Sub-Editor • Travel and Culture Sub-Editor

FOR ALL POSITIONS:

Please write up to 200 words on why you think you should be chosen and your relevant experience.

For design positions also include examples of design work.

For sub-editor positions also include an original 400 word article relevant to your chosen position.

DEADLINE:

Chief Designer, Sub Designers, Web Designer and Manager – 1st July

Sub-Editors and [smiths] T.V – 1st September
