STUDENT TRANSPORTATION USING COMPUTERIZED

ROUTING SOFTWARE:

Travel tracker routing software will help us to create and optimize our bus routing process. We will be able to do

all of the following and so much more!

Create schedules for alternating days as well as the ability to include or omit students within a certain distance

from each school during route planning.

Communication is key with the “parent portal” parents will be able to view current bus schedules. We can send

emails or texts messages directly from the platform to parents to notify then instantly of route changes or delays.

SAFETY DURING STUDENT TRANSPORTATION

• At 6ft apart our buses that are

designed to transport 64 students,

can only transport 10 students.

• At 3ft apart WITH MASK, we can

transport 20 students on a bus.

Walking School Bus

At this time we are working with

counselors to develop a survey that will

be administered to parents regarding

school age students walking to school.

MEAL DISTRIBUTION USING TRAVEL TRACKER

The nutrition staff is prepared to continue serving our students in the capacity that we have had in place since the March 16, 2020 closure in accordance with the VDOE requirements. This includes

Providing our students with nutritionally balanced meals via our “serve” model vs the offer model. All meals will be served in “to go” containers and will contain the required components: milk, meat/meat alternate, vegetable, fruit or natural fruit juice, and whole-grain or enriched bread/cereal. These meals will be delivered to the classrooms by a certified Nutrition team member ensuring each student receives a balanced meal.

Bus meal distribution will continue for those students who will be distance learning. We will utilize a “meal ordering” system so that we may be able to have parents opt in to home delivery. We will continue to utilize buses to distribute meals to students who are at home during the day. In addition, we can have students who alternate days take their meals home for when they are distance learning .

Utilizing the same Travel tracker software. We will be able to use the same drivers to distribute meals to those students learning from home.
