There’s nothing like the convenience of buying tickets in your pajamas plus you can share the link with friends and family so they can purchase their own tickets. We partner with a company called TutuTix. Tickets will go on sale at 10 AM on 5/16/15. At that time, you can purchase tickets by any of the following ways: 1. Go to our special TutuTix pages on your computer, tablet, or phone. Visit… www.tututix.com/allegrodanceacademy

2. Go to the Allegro Facebook page and click the “Buy Tickets” tab at the top
3. Call 855-222-2849
Ticket prices will be the same as they have been for years + minimum processing fees from TutuTix:
• Lower House: $22 + $1 + 5% • Upper House: $20 + $1 + 5 %
A couple of additional items to note: You need a credit or debit card to buy tickets. Tickets will be sold first come, first served. So buy early to get your best choice of seats. There is no limit
3
to the amount of tickets you may purchase. We have never sold out a performance. With that said, we cannot guarantee that we won’t sell out! Show 2 is usually our largest crowd!
You’ll have several options for how you want your tickets delivered. You can have it emailed to you, sent to your mobile phone, and even add it to your Apple Passbook (if you have the latest iPhone software) at no charge! Or, you can choose to have TutuTix mail you foil-embossed keepsake tickets (for an additional fee) with your dancer’s name printed directly on the ticket!
There are no refunds or exchanges. Everyone ages 3 and up will require a ticket for admittance into the theater.

Picture Days June 6 & 7
1
Professional pictures will be taken at the studio by Kristin Garland Photography. We have split the classes into TWO days for pictures. She will take individual photos then a class photo. Please remember parents are not allowed in the room while pictures are being taken. We will let the professionals take care of all the posing and smiling! Please arrive at least 20 minutes early in full costume with hair and light makeup. We ask you to arrive on time (see chart) because we are on a tight schedule and we cannot wait if you are late. Saturday classes are scheduled to take their photos close to their class time to make it more convenient for you. Dance paws are not needed for picture day. Nude camisole leotards are not recommended either because the straps show. We welcome shots of dancers with their friends and family, however friend images will be limited to 3 per dancer and must be requested in writing by a parent when the class is first brought in. If they will be in different costumes, please choose one of the class times that is most convenient. We will not take images that are not approved by one of the dancers’ parents. This will streamline picture
2
day for everyone. Thank you for your cooperation. If you can’t make it to your designated time, you are welcome to pop in another time for your individual picture – but you will obviously miss the class photo. Photos will be taken in the PINK room. Dancers should line up in the BLUE hallway about 5 minutes before their scheduled time. The times given are estimates and we may run slightly ahead of or behind schedule. We typically take the individual photos first then groups, but due to costume changes, we occasionally take them the other way around. After photos are done, dancers will exit into the main lobby of the studio. You can view and order your photos through Kristin Garland’s website: kristingarlandphotography.zenfolio.com or if you prefer to pay by check, you may see the office for an order form. All images are printed on high quality photo paper. She also offers package deals and other merchandise like mugs, canvases, photobags and other gifts. Also, Digital copies of images may be purchased and downloaded through the website. Both low and high resolution images will be available. High resolution images are recommended for printing. Please note that online sharing
3
of images requires the purchase of a digital image. Screen shots and other copied images violate copyright laws. Please be sure your dancer understands this policy. Packages of low resolution images will be available to make it easier to share those favorite shots on Facebook and Instagram! Be sure to use #allegrorecital2015 in your posts! Kristin will also be taking photos during the dress rehearsals and recital and those photos will be available this summer! Please note that during dress rehearsals, you will not be able to sit and watch in the front row because Kristin will be taking photos and needs to be able to run back and forth without tripping over anyone. We are grateful to Kristin for capturing these priceless moments and memories so beautifully!

Tights, Hair & Shoe Requirements
(for picture day and recital)
TIGHTS All tight colors should be CAPEZIO Ballet Pink (BPK) or Light Suntan (LSN). Black fishnets should not have seams. We have tights available for sale in the boutique and online – please don’t wait until the last minute so we can order them for you if we sell out! We require Capezio tights so that we have the same colored legs and so we look like a team! Always pack an extra pair of tights.
HAIR All bangs must be off your face and use hair ties and bobby pins that match your hair! Hairnets make buns a lot easier! Be sure to secure all headpieces with lots of bobby pins! Ribbons stay in best when it’s pulled through the hair elastic and then tied. SHOES Jazz shoes should be slip-on – no ties please! All jazz shoes are tan unless otherwise noted. Mr. Clean Magic Erasers work wonders to revitalize your shoes. We also have bins of donated shoes in the dressing room and you are welcome to swap your old ones out for “new” ones! Tap shoes for dancers up to BEG/INT should be Capezio Velcro mary-jane style. Please no patent leather tied tap shoes. EARRINGS Some costumes for our older girls require earrings as well. These are the crystal “comp” earrings. We have plenty for sale in the office and through our online store. Otherwise, no earrings are allowed.
OTHER COSTUME TIPS Please cut visible tags, no temporary tattoos or stamps. No nail polish on toes or fingers please!
All dancers should have a basic stage MAKEUP kit with…
§ Foundation § Black mascara § Black eyeliner § Red lipstick § Pink blush § Eyeshadow to match your costume. If you have several
costume changes – neutral browns work well to compliment and brighten your eyes.
§ Hair Brush § Hairspray § Bobby Pins to match your hair color § Hair Ties to match your hair color § Hairnet (if you need a bun)
We may make changes to the hair or shoe details after all of the costumes arrive. We will send an email to you if there are any changes and we ask that you make changes to this sheet so you have the most updated information for picture day and recital. Thank you! At Dress Rehearsal, we take costume notes and post them on the bulletin board backstage. Please check them before you go home from dress rehearsal. These details help make our show look as professional as possible.

We always have brand new Allegro Clothing for sale at the show! Every year, our Dance Company hosts a bake sale at the show – everything is only $1 and all proceeds benefit our Dance Company Dancers. If you are interested in donating a baked good, please let Lynne or Miss Robyn know and be sure to label your items and note if they have nuts! Thank you!
DO NOT IRON your costumes but it’s okay to steam them. The best way to steam your costumes is to hang it upside down in the bathroom for several days to let the steam from your shower work it’s magic!
It is an unwritten rule that every dancer earns flowers or a gift after a well-done performance! This year, we have again partnered with FloraCause - where the proceeds will benefit Make-A-Wish. FloraCause will have full and half dozen rose bouquets, mini sparkling bouquets and a large mixed bouquet in a variety of colors ranging from $12-$28. You may pre-order your bouquet by visiting:
www.floracause.com/allegro
Pre-orders will be available until the day before the recital! You may pick up your bouquets before the show or during intermission. Payment (either cash or check) will be required when you pick up your order.

If you need alterations and you are in need of seamstress, we recommend you contact one of our studio moms, Destenie Mansfield. You may call or text her at (603) 759-1673 or email her at [email protected].

BLOCKING REHEARSALS are where dancers wear their regular dance clothes and practice their dance so they are comfortable on the stage. These rehearsals are organized by age. We start with our youngest dancers and allow approximately 10 minutes per class. When one level has multiple classes, we try our best to alternate with another level to give the dancers a break between.
*We will not block company pieces this year as they have been on stage several times this season already. We will, however, run them with music during blocking rehearsals.
*Please note that if your dance is in two recitals, you will only block it once! You will, however, run it in all dress rehearsals!
BLOCKING REHEARSAL
INFORMATION
THERE IS ABSOLUTELY NO FOOD OR DRINKS (EXCEPT BOTTLED WATER) IN THE PERFORMING ARTS CENTER!!! You may eat in the lobby or dressing rooms ONLY. Anyone who does not follow this rule will be asked to leave the auditorium – the CHS auditorium staff is very strict about this.

• Your account must be paid in full by May 15 to purchase recital tickets. Students with overdue accounts will not be permitted to take home their recital costumes and therefore will not be able to participate in picture day or the recital(s).
• All blocking rehearsals, dress rehearsals and recitals will be held at the Chelmsford High School Performing Arts Center 190 Richardson Road – North Chelmsford, MA.
• Attendance is MANDATORY at all rehearsals. Failure to attend rehearsals may result in not being permitted to perform in the show. It’s very difficult for the rest of your classmates to be adequately prepared and comfortable on stage if everyone is not present during rehearsals.
• Each show is expected to last approximately 3 hours.
IMPORTA NT “Po inte s”
REC IT AL V O LU NTE ERS The show only goes smoothly with the help of volunteers…our staff can’t do it alone! We will need close to 100 people to help backstage, in dressing rooms, in the lobby, as ushers, etc. Volunteer positions are filled on a first-come, first-served basis. Thank you – in advance – for your help! Please email Jen before June 1st if you are interested in volunteering!
REC IT AL DA Y SAFE TY P ROCE DU RE S We love Chelmsford High School’s auditorium, but the one problem is they do not have large dressing rooms available immediately backstage, therefore we have to rent classrooms in the adjacent building of the school. Dancers that are enrolled in the Beg/Int Level and below have their dressing rooms in that main building of the school. On recital day, we will have signs and volunteers directing you to these rooms.
To ensure the safety of all our dancers, we have you “check-in” at a table in the school when you first arrive and you receive a slip of paper with your dancer’s name. You will need this “ticket” to pick up your child at either intermission or after the show. THIS IS VERY IMPORTANT….we will not release your child without that slip of paper so please do not send a family member to pick up your child without it!
Please wait until Intermission or until the end of the show – do not come back during the show to see your child or to take them to the audience. We want you to enjoy the show and we will happily take care of your dancer!
Dancers that only perform in the first half of the show will be released to their parents at Intermission. They can then sit on your lap to watch the rest of the show or up in back where there are empty seats. These dancers do NOT need a ticket unless they plan to sit in a seat in your row with your family.
Thank you for your cooperation and patience when dropping off and picking up your child. This process may take a little bit of extra time out of your already busy day, but it is the best way we have found to ensure your child’s safety!

Our recital program is similar to a “Playbill” that you would receive at a Broadway show! It makes a great keepsake, but you also have the option of placing an advertisement in the program to support your dancer or showcase your business to an audience of more than 1500 people from the local area! Sizes range from one-line “shout-outs” ($15) to business card size ($75) to a ¼ page ($100) to a ½ page ($150) to a full-page ($200). The entire book will be printed in black and white except for the cover. Please see the office or email Miss Jen for further information. You may view an example of last year’s book in the office. Remember – any size ad can be personal! This may be a nice chance to surprise your dancer with a photo and congrats on their 5 year award or even just another awesome year of dance! Please note that your business can be showcased in all ads except the shout-outs! THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR YOUR SUPPORT! Ads are due NO LATER than June 3rd.

Dress Rehearsal
Information
DRESS REHEARSALS run just like the recital. Please come ready in your first costume with hair and makeup done. With regard to makeup, the lights really wash you out, so please put on stage makeup – foundation, blush, eye shadow that compliments your eyes and matches your costume (neutral browns are fine!), mascara and red lipstick. We will rehearse the FINALE FIRST, that way you may leave when your last dance is finished unless your teacher (or Miss Jen) has asked you to stay to re-run your piece at the end of rehearsal. We will do our absolute best to run the rehearsals on time! All parents are asked to sit in the “upper house” section of the auditorium and dancers sit with their class and their chaperone. This way, they are accustomed to listening to their chaperones and going to them for help instead of their parent. Otherwise, the children may feel a bit lost at recital without their mom or dad and we want them to feel calm, comfortable and prepared!

DRESS REHEARSAL ETI QU ET TE
We aim to make recital week an exciting part of the dance education experience for your Allegro dancer! After your child’s rehearsal time, you are welcome to stay in the audience and watch the other dances. However, we ask that you remain quiet in the audience so our staff can facilitate the rehearsals quickly and efficiently! If anyone is making too much noise, we will ask you to wait in the lobby. It is too hard to stay on time and get the most out of these rehearsals if we are constantly asking the audience to be quiet. We only have limited time in the theater and we want to make the very best of it!
THANK YOU FOR YOUR
COOPERATION!

Dres s Re he arsal & Recit al Ch eck list
¨ Dance SHOES (labeled inside with a permanent marker). ¨ Extra pair of TIGHTS. Wear old tights at dress rehearsal, the stage is black -
your new tights will get dirty – save them for the show but always bring a backup pair!
¨ Garment bag with COSTUMES on hangers (if wearing more than one – otherwise arrive in costume). Label tag with permanent marker.
¨ All ACCESSORIES (hats, gloves, hairpieces, props, earrings, etc.) ¨ NO JEWELRY unless it’s part of the costume. ¨ PERFORMANCE KIT with makeup, band-aids, hair ties, hairspray, brush,
tissues, safety pins, bobby pins, mini-sewing kit, extra tights, etc. ¨ Wear a button-down or zip-up SWEATSHIRT over your costume to CHS…this
way, you will not ruin your hair or makeup! ¨ NO UNDERWEAR underneath your costume! That’s what tights (or a
leotard) are for! It’s like wearing a bathing suit! ¨ NO nail polish on your fingers or toes. ¨ NO fake TATTOOS and cover real ones. ¨ Bring a full WATER bottle. NO JUICE! ¨ A SNACK that won’t stain!!! Pretzels are a good option! No chocolate or
cheesy snacks…they can ruin costumes! ¨ WARMUP as soon as you arrive to prevent injury! ¨ Younger students may want to bring a coloring book with crayons or a
small game or craft to keep them occupied while waiting backstage. Please do not pack anything valuable (i.e. IPads, Nintendo DS, etc.) because things may get lost in the shuffle of the day!
It is helpful to bring everything you need in a small suitcase, bag or plastic tub on wheels. This way, you can store everything in one place! And if you have quick changes, you can just throw everything in the bin when are done with it!
