Conclusion
� CW Ytterbium fiber lasers are in widest use for cutting and
welding. Powers up to 100kW available
� Wavelength range from 355 to 1940nm is realized
� Beam Qualities between 0.4 and 45 mm*rad are available
which are used for cutting, welding, brazing, cladding
� QCW laser up 200J pulse energy are used for drilling
� Megapulse lasers with ns range pulses for cleaning and paint
stripping (Peak power of several 100kWs)
� Even higher energy efficiency >40% is realized
� Fiber laser technology is an excellent base for tailoring
industrial light sources.
