FROM THE PASTOR’S DESK ...
SEPTEMBER 23, 2018 25TH SUNDAY IN ORDINARY T IME
My Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,
I am very happy to announce TWO new initiatives in
our parish. First, we will be starting an new apostolate
for our young adults (age 21-40). The group will meet
once a month for timely discussion, a meal, education
and fellowship, along with a few field trips. I invite
anyone from the parish in this age bracket to come to the
first gathering at a Pot Luck Dinner after the 4 p.m. Mass
on Saturday, September 29, in Mary’s Room. Please see
page 4 of the bulletin for more detail.
Second, we are going to be part of the Troops of Saint
George, a Catholic group for young boys up to age 18.
This exciting endeavor will provide our boys with some
wonderful opportunities for outside adventure, as well as
spiritual growth. Stay tuned for more information.
As September winds down, we approach a very busy
month in the parish. October is our Respect Life Month.
Check out the flyer in next week’s bulletin to see all of
the events that will take place: Stand for Life, Anointing
of the Sick, Annual Pet Blessing, and, of course, our
Annual 40 Hours Devotions. Please plan to come and be
a part of all of these wonderful things.
Please consider participating in our First Saturday and
First Sunday events that take place each month. On the
First Saturday, there is a Mass in the Extraordinary Form
followed by devotion prayers, breakfast and a Spiritual
Conference If you would like to grow deeper in your
Faith, this is the group for you. Call me with any
questions. On the First Sunday of the month, the 5 p.m.
Mass is also in the Extraordinary Form.
May God’s blessings be yours this week.

all of their caregivers. In a special way, let us
pray for these members of our community:
Marie Bernardo, Nick DiFranco, Barbara Gura, Aida
Kinczel, Anna Perrone, Sally Rummel, E. Joseph
Stanziano, Jim and Pat Sweeney, Tom Wenzel and all
the prayer requests in the book of intentions in the
Blessed Sacrament Chapel.

to the person who calls with the First Friday reminders.
MARIAN MOVEMENT OF PRIESTS
Please consider joining the members of the Marian
Movement of Priests each Thursday evening at 7
o’clock when they gather in the Chapel to pray for
vocations to the priesthood and for those men who are
already ordained.
No reservation ~ no fees ~ no requirements for
membership, just a genuine desire to spend time in
prayer for those who have dedicated their lives to serve
God in His holy Church.

your continued and regular support that we can provide
the current variety of parish ministries to them. If you have
discontinued your financial suport, please consider
reinstating that practice.
Parents: The children have received their boxes of offering
envelopes. Please encourage them to develop the practice
of bringing an envelopes weekly when they come to
church with you.
If you would be interested in a carefree way to contribute

REMEMBER:
Jesus is present for you to talk to, pray to
or just sit in silence with in our Blessed
Sacrament Chapel. If you have an hour to
spend with Him, your blessings are
uncountable.
The Archangels, whose feast the Church celebrates
on Saturday, September 29, are God’s top angels. There
are only 3 angels
mentioned by name in the
Scriptures:
Michael: Referred
to as the Prince of the
Heavenly Host, he works
on missions that involve
fighting evil, proclaiming
God's truth, and
strengthening people's
faith.
Gabriel: Referred to as God’s Holy Messenger, he
communicates God's most important announcements to
humans and specializes in helping people understand
God's messages and apply them to their lives.
Raphael: Referred to as the Healing Angel (his
name means, “Healing Power of God,”), he serves as
God's main healing angel, caring for the health of
people, animals, and every other part of God's creation.
40 DAYS FOR LIFE:
