Happy February
Rebels,
Well, it is a cold
start for the
month but spring
is right around
the corner, and
that means the
kick off to the car
season.
I would like to
start having some
garage scenes. If
we have the in-
terest, maybe
have one every quarter. As of right now I’m talk-
ing with Bill about doing a head/valve gasket re-
placement and a basic tune up onto a small block
Chevy.
If anyone has any more ideas for a garage scene,
or would like to sponsor a garage scene please get
with me on your ideas. I think this would be a
fun way for us to get together and have some fun.
Also don’t forget that the swap meet is coming up
soon and Gary is still looking for volunteers. This
is one of our other means of income for your
club!!!!

THIS MONTH WE HIGHLIGHT OUR REBELS MEMBER
Mike and Stacy Brown
by Jim Jensen
402-580-3763
Our bike is a 2007 Harley Davison Softail FXST. What does this all mean? You ask. Softail refers to hidden rear supposi-
tion making it look like a hardtail (hardtail = there no shocks on the rear of the bike making for a very rough ride). The
FXST means it’s the base model in the Softail family.
2007 was the first year for fuel injection. The bike has a 96ci engine, and a 6-speed Tranny. The 07 FXST came standard
with a very skinny front tire, fat rear tire tucked under a bobtail fender and baby Ape handle bars and forward controls.
Making this bike, one fun cruiser!
Buying this bike was a surprise for both of us, but mostly for Stacy! We needed to waste some time so we decided to go
by Frontier and look around. I saw this older bike that just got out of the shop for new brakes and a tune-up. I asked the
salesman how much they wanted for it and what the monthly payment would be. The next thing I knew it was 2 hours
later and a proud owner of my first Harley. The people before us had some credit problems and the salesman didn’t want
us to leave so he gave us some gift
cards and free t-shirts. By the time
were done, it was so late and the store
was closing, that I pulled the bike out-
side and ran home to get my helmet
and jeans.
The bike already had a K&N air filter
and loud Vance and Heinz pipes. The
only thing that I have added was a
wind shield, homemade cup holder and
some travel bags Stacy found at a Good
Will. (actual Harley brand)
Stacy and I have taken it on some nice
road trips to small towns around the
Lincoln area. The longest ride I have
done, was to Minden Ne to visit a cou-
ple that we met on Tour Nebraska.
They talked me into entering it in the
car show where I won first place out of
3 bikes and one trike.
What is in the future? Well I would like
to put full Ape hangers, longer and
louder pipes and maybe a wild paint
job with flames. I want to be seen and
heard from 3 miles away!!!
