Marshall Way Layton, UT 84041 Report Date: 29 August, 2011 Test Date: 11 August, 2011 Test Specimen: One Inch FAST Panel INTRODUCTION The methods and procedures used in this test conform to the provisions and requirements of ASTM Procedure C 423-09a, Standard Test Method for Sound Absorption Coefficients by the Reverberation Room Method. Copies of the test standard are available at www.astm.org . The test chamber is a cuboid, 1279 cm (503.6 in) long by 1,075 cm (423.0 in) wide by 531 cm (208.9 in) high. The chamber door is placed in a smaller rectangular niche that is 450 cm (177 in) high, 259 cm (102.0 in) wide, and 69 cm (27.4 in) deep. Together they have a total volume of 737.38m 3 (26,040.5 ft 3 ). There are six fixed surfaces in the reverberation room. There are three sources consisting of two dodecahedron loudspeakers, mounted in the two upper corners and one sub-woofer located below one of the dodecahedrons. We utilize 6 Earthworks M-30 Omni directional microphones to gather the data. This test report relates only to the item(s) tested. Any advertisement that utilizes this test report or test data must not imply product certification or endorsement by NWAA Labs and has to include all pages of the report. DESCRIPTION OF TEST SPECIMEN The test specimen consisted of 2.54 cm (1 in) Knauf “Ecose” fiberglass covered with thin plastic panels perforated in a proprietary pattern to form a nominal 305 cm (120.0 in) by 366 cm (144.0 in) rectangular sample. The panels were placed directly on the floor surface and the edges were covered with 16-guage metal flashing. This was a Type “A” mounting and formed a rectangle with a surface area of 11.1 m 2 (120.0 ft 2 ). Total weight of the test sample is 58.4 kg (128.6 lbs). Test results are on the following pages.
