WelcometoSpainWidely known for Flamenco music and dance, bull-fights, fantastic beaches and lots of sunshine, Spain has to offer much more than that.

It is -and has been for thousands of years- one of the cultural centres of Europe. It has beautiful cities and towns, offering really old monumentsas well as futuristic architecture.

Its various regions are all different one to each other, geographically, climatically and even in personality. It is a fascinating cçntry to know and toknow more about it.

“Spain is different!”, Spaniards use to say. They don’t specify compared to what: tothe rest of Europe, to the rest of the world, or even to itself ? We don’t know it either, but we do our best to supply you with loads of information so you can find the an-swer to this question and to many more by yourself.

Spain is, above all, a mosaic of cultures. Heterogeneous. Old and modern. Refinedand popular. Holy and secular. Plural and diverse. The variety of its cultures attracts. The historic heritage dazzles. The vital power of its people fascinates. Spanish cultureis extremely rich and touches upon all forms of artistic expression. From literature topainting, music to architecture, the theatre to sumptuary arts. In each of these aspects, atsome time in history or other, Spanish culture has reached the highest artistic heights: frombygone times (with outstanding examples of Cave art) until present day (a time in which Spanisharchitecture is universally avant-garde), culture and art in Spain are prominent features of thecountry.

To enjoy the food and wines is synonymous of Spain. The variety and richness of our gastronomyand to possess many of the most important wines of the world, have done our country being famousall over the world.

Cultural tourism is becoming an alternative to sun and beach tourism, as a result of the wealth and qualityof the museums, monuments, fiestas and traditions, not to mention the expositions and various culturaldisplays. Just to give an example, Spain boasts one of the greatest collections of historical and archi-tectural monuments in the world, as demonstrated by the fact that it is the country with the secondhighest number of UNESCO World Heritage designations.
