My work has led me to many interesting and breath-taking locations on the island. Many
of them are in places completely unknown to the average passerby. It consistently reminds me of the old saying, “location, location, location!” It doesn’t matter what the house looks like, as this can always be renovated or changed, but you can’t materialize a killer view, or tranquil surroundings.
Milo and I hopped on a ferry to Mayne Island last weekend to fi lm a segment for my TV show Trend on
CHEK. It was a horribly rainy, and blustery day. Yet the location was still perfect, as it was set in a cozy, quite forest with a killer view of the ocean. You could cuddle up in front of the fi replace and watch the many BC Ferries sail by. Living on Vancouver Island and taking in this unique lifestyle has really made me realize you can’t beat the location.
While spending the majority of my time up on the Malahat at a client’s residence, I have been treated to the most spectacular view available
(possibly in the world!). I think that you would be hard pressed to fi nd a spot elsewhere on the globe that can top the views of Finlayson Arm, Mt. Baker, the views of Victoria, and Mill Bay. It doesn’t matter what type of development may be constructed in the area in the future, tthey will never lose the view.
As Vancouver Island dwellers, we are lucky enough that water views are close by no matter what direction that we travel.
