I. Letter of Introduction [Abstract]

Abstract

Software Engineer is the career chose by me since I am 14 years old. I want to be a

Software Engineer because I love programming and developing software. It

requires thinking skills as programming problems have to be solved in creative

ways and I love to think and solve problems.

Recently, I came across an article in the internet reporting that Software

Engineer rank in the first place in job rank in USA. The article also states that the

job is the least stressful job, with high payment and the most ease working

environment.

I am actually inspired by Bill Gates and the late Steve Jobs as both of them

are very creative in software programming and businesses. They start to involve in

computer business since 15 years old and they managed to change IT industry in

US. Nevertheless, comparing to IT business in Malaysia, it’s not evolving at all.

So, hopefully someday I can change the fate of IT industry in Malaysia.

Besides that, I like to work in an environment with computer-related as I

love to work with computers. Furthermore, I have learned by myself about

computer programming since I am 14 years old. Until present, I have covered a

few computer programming languages such as Visual Basic, BASIC, MS-DOS,

HTML, CSS, C++ and other computer skills for instance photo editing

(Photoshop) and video editing (Corel VideoStudio).

Since then, I have developed a number of software such as Internet Browser,

Media Player, Paint, Anti-Virus, Downloader, Click-based games and few websites

for instance Peers Website (prstaiping.zxq.net) and Maresmart Alternative Website

(maresmart.fav.cc).

It is proven I am a fast learner if the subject is related to computers for

example Mathematics. On the other hand, I may learn by myself about computer

and programming as I am fully interested with the subjects.

For your information, I am an optimistic student, always looking forward,

learning from past experience either own experience or others, and I am well

equipped with leadership and management skills. Therefore, I promise I will be the

best asset for any company that I work for.

HUMAN OBSERVATION

What do I like to do (interest and personality)?

I like to surf the internet, learn every new things about the

computer, including programming, web-developing,

photoshop arts, news, articles, video editing and social

networking.

What is my preferred work environment?

I prefer to work in a closed and shed environment as I do not

like to be fried up under the sun.

SELF ASSESSMENT INSTRUMENTS (Results)

Career Interest Inventory

Career Interest Inventory result shown that I have the

tendency to pursue into Art Sector. As my result state that

the three sector that dominant my interest in descending

are Art, Science and Entrepreneurship.

Self-Directed search

Most of my close relatives and friends told me that I am

good at anything related to computer from editing to

programming. I search the internet and found out I have

tendency to proceed my career in any computer related job.

MAKING A CAREER DECISION

What do you like?

I like to solve problems in my daily life. I love to think new

ways to overcome any difficulties and I will try again and

again until I succeed.

What do you dislike?

I don’t like to repair any device physically with my bare

hands.

What kind of adult life do you want to live?

I want to be a successful software engineer, preferably CEO

of a company, living perfectly with my lovely wife, in an

averagely life with luxury house and car.

How much money do you want to make?

I am predicting a life with a minimum salary of RM 8,000 but

preferably would approach RM 20,000 maximum.

Do you want to be married?

Yes, and preferably with my dream girl.

Do you want to have children? If yes, how many?

Yes. I am planning to have number of children ranging from

5 to 7 because the more children I have the merrier life it

will be.

Do you want to work in a small business?

No, small business does not promising constant profit.

Do you want to work in a large corporation?

Yes, because in large corporation, I will be working in a team

for sure and the chances of the company to grow bigger.

Will your career choice provide you with enough money to meet you and your

family desired lifestyle?

Yes, as being a software engineer actually promising a better

lifestyle because the salary is quite high and its working

environment rank with the least stress.

Will jobs be available in this field when you complete your education and

training?

According to a report by MDEC (a branch company of MSC),

percentage of job opportunities of Software Engineer is

increasing tremendously either local or foreign country. So it

shouldn’t be a problem to find get job.
