Early Scene
•Reagan started becoming widely popular in 1954 when he became the host of GE’s “General Electric Theater”
•In 1966 Reagan ran and was elected as Governor of California where he served two terms. As Governor he accomplished doubling school aid, expanding the mental health field and huge welfare reform

•In 1980 Reagan ran for US President, in which he knocked incumbent President Jimmy Carter out of office. In 1981 Reagan was sworn into office as the oldest man to be elected to office

•Coming into office Reagan had his goals set: to revitalize the country, reduce taxes and balance the federal budget and reduce the size of the government

US President•Reagan entered the office in a time of international tension, the Soviet Union was one of Reagan’s biggest goals that he had to tackle. He made huge efforts to promote global peace eventually signing a weapons treaty with the Soviet Union
US President•Reagan took his position as president very seriously, In July of 1985 he underwent surgery to remove cancerous cells from his colon. However before the surgery he appointed his Vice President as acting President during his time in the operating room
• Throughout Reagan’s life he voiced his opinion for what he thought was right for the country
