    SECTION A: COMPREHENSION AND SUMMARY

    1.  Read the following passage carefully and then answer all the questions that follow.

    One of the most popular literary figures in Sukuma tribe oral literature is a man namely Mwanamalunde, who

    spent few times of his life in prison found in one of Indian Ocean Islands nearly Zanzibar Island, an Island

    located few kilometers from Tanzania main land. In his lifetime he did many things especially those

    concerning with supernatural power. The people of Sukuma land have a lot to tell about the legendary hero,

    Mwanamalunde. There are several accounts with different story versions of Mwanamalunde. His story differ

    from one tribe to another and from one region to another, and one of the version of Mwanamalunde story

    states that, he was able to make a huge tree to dry immediately after he pointed his finger to that tree. Hence,

    the German soldiers found him to be a huge threat to their colonial government and decided to put him in

     prison in small Island nearly Zanzibar. However, he always found in Dar es Salaam during evening time and

    this made people wonder on how could be possible for a person who is imprisoned in the Island to be at Dar

    es Salaam during evening and the rest of the time to be in prison. Most people believe Mwanamalunde walks

    on water.
