Christopher Columbus:

Land Ho!

For many years people have talkedabout – and argued about – the impactof explorer Christopher Columbus' landing in the Americas. Many people view his journeys as opening up an exciting “New World.” But, others point out that the lands Columbus found hadmany people already – with their own

ways of life – and see his coming to these lands as destructive. In the end, we all can agree that Columbus' voyages to the Americas beginning in 1492 set in motion a period of massive change that continues today – over 500 years later!

... in the oceans and in outer space.
