THE KNIGHTS OF COLUMBUS - IN SERVICE TO ONE, IN SERVICE TO ALL

Richard Council 788 Honor Roll

From The Corporation President R .Jay Kussmaul Are you interested in getting a possible 26% reduction in the purchase of your natural gas consumption from Consumers Energy at no cost to you? Last month the LCA Corporation signed up for this discount opportunity with Volunteer Energy which is a gas supplier rather than stay with Consumers Energy gas prices.

We would have saved hundreds of dollars for the club had this been available and we had known about it over the past few years. Estimate cost/unit from Consumers Energy is $6.16 vs $4.89 from Volunteer Energy. You can get the same rate as you’re a member of the Knights of Columbus. Consumers Energy is still your utility company and they still send you a monthly statement even though you are buying your gas from Volunteer.

There is literature and applications at the club if you are interested for you to take and sign up. Attach a copy of your most recent Consumers Energy statement and that is all. No long term commitment and no fees. We will turn the application in for you. The club does not make any money on this as we are simply passing along a bargain to you. If you have any questions, please contact me at 323-2922.

Let’s hope we all have a great New Year 2012 !!!!!!

From Your Editor Jay G. Corey THE 15TH OF THE PRECEEDING MONTH is still the deadline for submitting material for consideration into each newsletter. This allows us to get the newsletter to the printer quicker, and out to you sooner. Anything that you may have for the newsletter, in the way of articles or corrections, can be sent to me directly at [email protected]., or you may drop it off at the council in the “Submission Box” located in the bar area. You may also contact me at my home number of 393-1096 or by cell at 974-6501. If you would like to view the newsletter in color, or earlier than mail, you may go to our website at kofc788.org.

Sickness & Distress A prayers and recovery intentions continue to be needed for Brothers Rodger Swink, Matt Mannino, Bob Robitaille, Ricardo Rendon, John Lopez, Rodger Swink, Rod Shangle, Will Rogers, Lou Powell, Fr. William Luger and Patrick McCarthy. Please also pray for Mary Ellen McCloy, and Donna Milliman. Please remember all of them in your prayers. If you know of someone that is ill and recovering, or has passed away, please contact our Grand Knight, Bill Chasse, at [email protected] or at home at 517-622-0365. You can reach our Financial Secretary, Jim Warner at [email protected] or at home at 321-1507 or by cell at 719-6794.

From The 4th Degree Faithful Navigator PGK Dave Luedtke

My Brother Knights, Most of you have heard that Bishop Albers Assembly of the Fourth Degree is going to be split into another brand new Assembly. Councils from St. Gerard, St. Michaels in Grand Ledge and St. Mary Cathedral will now comprise Bishop Albers Assembly #0496. The other Councils will be transitioned into the new, as yet unnamed Assembly. This also means that we will be looking to replace 7 of our 12 Officers. I am asking help from both St. Michaels and St. Mary brothers to help us fill these positions. I am asking today for help from Richard Council #788 in doing the same. If you have been considering stepping up to become an Officer, now is the perfect time to do so. I hope to fill at least 3 of these positions from the other two Councils. This means #788 needs to have 4 members help with this transition. Please consider becoming an important part of Bishop Albers Assembly, especially those new Brothers who joined in this past year. Our meeting is held on the 3rd Tuesday of each month at 7:30. These meetings are held at the #788 Hall. Please call me with any questions you may have. 517-303-5555. I appreciate all of the help we will be getting.
