• If a fish you tag is
recaptured in the future
and reported to us, you will
receive a Recapture
Report detailing the
movements and growth of
that fish.
• So, be sure to send in your
data cards; we have
several instances of
recaptured fish for which
we do not have the
corresponding tagging
data.
• 2,650 tripletail tagged and released
• Annual recapture rates vary from 8% - 11%
• Angler participation from Texas to Georgia
• Majority of data based on fish tagged and

Estimated Age (years)
• Increasing popularity
• Status of the tripletail stock is unknown
• High recapture rate indicates high susceptibility
capture by hook-and-line
• A species of fisheries interest should be protected
from harvest until a significant portion of it’s
population (at least 50%) becomes mature and has
the opportunity to spawn.
