THIS WEEK’S SPEAKER - SANDHYA FLESCHER

Lorri Christopher is a Dunwoody Rotarian and former GSE Team Leaderto Bavaria. She is Past Chair of the District GSE Committee. Lorri spoke tothe club about this year’s exchange with SouthKorea. She was surprised and disappointed tolearn that North DeKalb was not participating thisyear as a GSE sponsor. Tom Friedrichs assuredher we were. And, after a few moments of awk-ward silence, Lorri confirmed that Tom did in facthave us signed up. Great work Tom! Thanks formaking us look good.

Also joining the club last week was special guest Jacquelyn Tolliver. She is a candidate for Cultural Scholar to Africa or Latin America.

SHEPHERD CENTER - “FAMOUS” LOU GIVES BACK.....as if that was a surprise to anyone!

A small but capable group of North DeKalb Rotarians or-ganized by “Still Famous” Lou including Sandra (next bestthing to an NDR Rotarian), Mike Emanuel, Jim Grecco andSpencer Gandy met Saturday to assemble entertainmentcenters for the Shepherd Center Apartments. These apart-ments are provided free for families that have family mem-bers at the Shepherd Center. There are approximately 80apartments. Families come from as near as Athens, Geor-

gia to to as far away as Tanzania Africa. We will need another crew Saturday the16th to help finish the project.

NDR supported Sandhya Flescher this summer to work on a health assessment in Motipur, India.Motipur is a small village without public health services. Sandhya is a senior at Oglethorpe Univer-sity and a friend to NDR GRSP students, Thuy and Udi. Her experience in India has increased herinterest in women’s health.
