Hribčki, hribi in skalna pobočja vabijoPlanine pod KošutoRazkošje se v Tržiču meri tudi v številu pohodniških poti. V dolinah pod Karavankami jih je toliko, da ob vsakem prihodu odkrijete novo najljubšo! Zahtevni pohodniki lahko izbirate med 150 kilometri markiranih poti vseh zahtevnosti.

Za družine tokrat predlagamo pohajkovanje v naročju najdaljše slovenske gore. Planine pod Košuto povezuje nezahtevna markirana planinska pot, ki vodi po vznožju te najdaljše slovenske gore, prav tam, kjer se strma travnata pobočja umirijo in počasi prehajajo v gozd; prav tam, kjer iz planšarij in planinskih domov čarobno zadiši po sveže pripravljenih lokalnih specialitetah.

/ Follow the allure of green hills, high mountains, and rock facesMountain pastures below KošutaThe abundance of routes is also reflected in the number of hiking trails. There are so many in the valleys below the Karavanke mountains that you can discover a new favourite each time you set foot in the area. Discerning hikers can choose from among 150 kilometres of marked trails of all levels of difficulty.

This year's suggestion for family hiking is the lap of Slovenia's longest mountain, Košuta. The mountain pastures below Košuta are connected by an easy marked hiking trail that runs along the foot of the mountain, right where the steep grassy slopes start to level out and gradually give way to woodland; right where the enchanting smell of freshly prepared local dishes wafts from the mountain dairies and huts.

Pridruži se številnim raziskovalcem na dveh kolesihTurnokolesarska pot Trans KaravankeGorski kolesarji si za enega od letošnjih podvigov lahko izberete turnokolesarsko pot Trans Karavanke, ki je bila vzpostavljena v projektu Alpe Adria Karavanke/Karawanken. V petih etapah se razteza od Jezerskega do Tromeje.

Večinoma poteka po gozdnih cestah na prisojnih pobočjih Karavank, na 132 kilometrih med drugim obišče tudi nekaj popularnih planinskih postojank in zanimivosti na Tržiškem, največja nagrada pa bodo vsekakor čudoviti razgledi in uživanje v pristni naravi.

Pot je primerna za kondicijsko dobro pripravljene gorske kolesarje, saj so dnevne etape praviloma dolge od 25 do 35 kilometrov, največ pa v enem dnevu premagamo 1.650 višinskih metrov. Zbiratelji žigov bodo te lahko nabirali v posebnem dnevniku, ki je na voljo na kontrolnih točkah.

/ Join the many who choose to explore the area on two wheelsTrans Karavanke MTB trailMountain bikers can make one of this year’s exploits the Trans Karavanke MTB trail, created within the Alpe Adria Karavanke/Karawanken project. The trail extends from Jezersko to Tromeja (“Three Borders”, where Slovenia, Italy, and Austria meet) in five stages. It mostly runs along forest roads on pristine slopes of the Karavanke mountains.

Over its 132 kilometres it passes several popular mountain huts and attractions in the Tržič area, but the greatest reward will be the wonderful views and enjoyment of pristine natural surroundings.

The trail is suitable for mountain bikers in good condition, as the daily stages are normally 25 to 35 kilometres long, with elevation gains of up to 1,650 metres in a day. Iz tržiških piskrov / From Tržič potsTržičani so radi jedli meso – predvsem perutnino, a tudi divjačino, svinjino in govedino; ljubili so tonko – omako, ki ostane pri pečenju mesa. Pogosto so bile na mizi močnate jedi, med njimi žganci, štruklji, močnik in krapi, pa tudi kaša.

Najbolj znana tržiška jed so zagotovo tržiške bržole, enolončnica iz ovčjega ali koštrunovega mesa. O njihovem nastanku je poznana zgodba, ki govori o veseli druščini na planini Kofce, ki je, ko jim je zmanjkalo hrane, uplenila ovco in jo skuhala skupaj z začimbami in zelišči, rastočimi na planini.

V tržiških gostilnah lahko poskusite nekaj izbranih tradicionalnih jedi, ki jih na sodoben način pripravljajo posebej za vas. Na planšarijah pa v poletnih mesecih ponujajo predvsem mlečne jedi. Kislo mleko v kombinaciji z različnimi žganci, masovnik in štruklji so jedi, ki bodo poskrbele za razvajanje vaših brbončic.

Kulinarična ponudba tako v mestu kot v okolici je še posebej bogata v času prireditev. Greh je zamuditi toliko dobrega!

/The people of Tržič have always liked to eat meat, and they loved 'tonka' – the gravy from roasting meat. They have often prepared floury dishes, like 'žganci' (buckwheat mush), and 'štruklji' (dumplings), as well as 'močnik' and 'kaša' (types of porridge).

The best known Tržič dish is Tržič bržola. There's a story about how the dish originated, when a merry band having a good time up on Kofce mountain pasture ran out of food and stole a ewe and cooked it up with some seasonings and herbs growing on the pasture.

In Tržič restaurants and inns you can taste some traditional dishes prepared in a contemporary way specially for you. The mountain dairies in the summer months serve mainly milk-based dishes. Sour milk in combination with various porridges, “masovnek”, and dumplings are dishes that are sure to tickle your taste buds.

The selection of foods is especially diverse during events and festivities. It would be a sin to miss out on so much goodness!

Zmajevo mesto podjetnihin spretnihStaro mestno jedroVse se je začelo z zmajem. Zaredil se je globoko v gori Košuta. Ko je zrasel v ogromno zverino, je to razklalo goro na dvoje. Sprožil se je bobneč plaz skal, ki je zasul naselbino pod goro. Da bi se rešili, so prebivalci stekli v dolino. Čez čas jim je zmanjkalo sape in so se ustavili. Tam je zrastel današnji Tržič.

Ker je bilo tu še od starorimskih časov veliko prometa, so se Tržičani razvili v odlične in zelo podjetne železarje, kolarje, tekstilce, usnjarje in predvsem čevljarje. O tem pričajo tudi bogate zbirke v Tržiškem muzeju.

Zmaja, ki je zaslužen za nastanek Tržiča pa je pokopal prav isti plaz, ki ga je sam sprožil.

/ Dragon’s town of the enterprising and the skilledThe old town centre It all began with the dragon. He came to life deep inside the mountain of Košuta. When he grew into a huge beast it split the mountain in two. This triggered a roaring rockslide that buried the settlement below the mountain. To save themselves the inhabitants ran into the valley. After a time they ran out of breath and stopped. This is where the present-day town of Tržič grew and developed.

Since this area has been a busy transportation route since the time of ancient Rome, the residents of Tržič developed into outstanding and very enterprising ironworkers, cartwrights, clothmakers, tanners, and especially shoemakers.

Preteklost je na novih razstavah usnjarstva, čevljarstva, nogavičarstva, tekstila, barvarstva in v Slovenskem smučarskem muzeju predstavljena tako, da se boste ob učenju tudi zabavali.

/Great wealth of a small museumTržič MuseumThe local museum, which presents the once extremely highly developed trades and crafts that were the livelihood for many Tržič residents, is located in the intriguing ambience of the former tannery and blueprint factory.

Listen to songs and testimonials, sense the smells of a leather workshop, test the old shoemaker’s lamp, try on unusual shoes from old times, touch yarn, feed a dragon, and more.

The past is presented in new exhibitions of leather, shoemaking, sockmaking, textiles, dyeing and at the Slovenian Skiing Museum, so that you will surely have fun while learning.

Tržiška geozakladnicaNaravni spomenik Dovžanova soteskaNaravni spomenik Dovžanova soteska leži v osrednjem delu Karavank, naše najdaljše gorske verige. V njej je edinstveno nahajališče okamnin iz mlajšega paleozoika (stari zemeljski vek).

Vabimo vas, da se sprehodite skozi sotesko in spoznate bogato geološko dediščino, ki jo je razkrila gorska reka Tržiška Bistrica, ki svojo strugo vrezuje v raznoliko kamninsko podlago in ob tem ustvarja značilne geomorfološke oblike.

Vstop v naravni spomenik je za posamezne obiskovalce prost. Za voden ogled po predhodni najavi se lahko dogovorite v TPIC Tržič. Vstopna informacijska točka in Razstavno izobraževalno središče sta ob lepem vremenu odprta vsak konec tedna od maja do oktobra.

/ Tržič’s geological treasure chestThe Dovžan Gorge - natural monumentThe Dovžan Gorge is located in the central part of the Karavanke mountains, Slovenia’s longest mountain range. Within it lies a unique geological site with rocks dating from the late Paleozoic Era.

Take a walk through the gorge and learn about the rich geological heritage uncovered by the Tržič Bistrica River as it carves out its riverbed through the diverse rock deposits.

Entrance to the natural monument site is free to individual visitors. Guided tours can be arranged in advance by contacting TIC Tržič. The information point at the entrance and the Exhibition and Education Centre are open in good weather on weekends from May to October.

You are kindly requested to bring home only photographs and memories while visiting the Dovžan Gorge. Poletimo nad tržiško deželo, zajadrajmo nad Ljubljansko kotlino Jadralno padalstvoPravijo, da iz Tržiča še veter ni dober. Pa to še zdaleč ni res. Tržiško je raj za jadralne padalce in zmajarje, ki vzletajo na strminah Gozda, Kriške gore in Dobrče ter kot ptice jadrajo nad vrhovi Košute in Begunjščice. Šele večerni mrak jih opomni, da se bo počasi treba spustiti na trdna tla.

Tržič leži skrit v sotočju Tržiške Bistrice in Mošenika, okoliške vzpetine pa ponosno obrobljajo Ljubljansko kotlino.

Z vrhov tržiških gora se širi edinstven razgled – prek Kranja vse do Ljubljane in še naprej, mimo Storžiča do Krvavca in na zahod vse do mogočnih Julijcev. Pogled z vrhov je res lep, še bolj doživet pa je s sedeža tandemskega jadralnega padala. Kdaj ga boste doživeli vi?

The Tržič area is a paradise for paragliders and hang gliders taking off from the slopes of Gozd, Kriška gora, and Dobrča and soaring like birds above the peaks of Košuta and Begunjščica. Only the evening twilight reminds them that they need to come back to earth.

Tržič is nestled at the confluence of the Tržič Bistrica and Mošenik rivers, the nearby hills at the edge of the Ljubljana Basin rising proudly in the background.

The summits of the Tržič area mountains offer unparalleled views across Kranj all the way to Ljubljana and beyond, past Storžič to Krvavec, and to the west all the way to the majestic Julian Alps. The view from the top is indeed beautiful, and what better way to experience it than from the seat of a tandem paraglider? When would you like to experience it?

The price of a daily bus ticket (Bled – Camping Šobec – Radovljica – Begunje – Tržič – Čadovlje (Dovžan Gorge) –Radovljica – Bled) is €8. Children up to the age of 10 ride for free. Tickets are purchased on the bus.

Kopate se lahko vsak dan med 9. in 19. uro, ob petkih in sobotah pa med 9. in 21. uro. Jutranje rekreativno plavanje je od ponedeljka do petka med 7. in 8.30. Nočno kopanje je ob petkih in sobotah med 19. in 21. uro. / Swimming is possible every day from 9 am to 7 pm, on Fridays and Saturdays from 9 am to 9 pm. Poletna osvežitev v objemu goraGorenjska plažaJutranji zamah ali popoldanska osvežitev, večerno sproščanje ali celodnevna sprostitev. Sodobno opremljen kopalni objekt Gorenjska plaža se ponaša z dvema bazenoma, primernima za otroke in odrasle vseh starostnih skupin. V bazenu je voda ogrevana s pomočjo solarnih panelov do 26 stopinj Celzija. Aktivnejšim plavalcem je namenjen 50-metrski bazen z največjo globino 180 centimetrov, dodatno sprostitev in igrivost v vodi pa ponujajo divja reka in masažni stoli.

Mali nadobudneži lahko čofotajo v manjšem okroglem bazenu, globine od 15 do 65 centimetrov, za igranje zunaj bazena pa je poskrbljeno na ladji Fletnci. Bazen je opremljen s podvodno razsvetljavo, zato vsem romantikom priporočamo kopanje tudi v nočnem času. Za potešitev žeje in zadovoljitev brbončic že med kopanjem poskrbijo v Restavraciji Firbc' okn.

The modern pool complex of Gorenjska Beach has two pools suitable for children and adults of all age groups. The pool water is heated through the use of solar panels to a temperature of 26 degrees Celsius. More active swimmers can make use of a 50-metre pool with a maximum depth of 180 centimetres, while additional relaxation and play in the water are offered by a set of rapids and massage chairs.

The little ones can splash in a smaller round pool, with a depth from 15 to 65 cm, or play outside the pool on the boat called “Fletnca”. The pool is equipped with underwater lighting, offering romantic night swims. Visitors can quench their thirst and tickle their taste buds at the Firbc' okn Restaurant.

Šentanček čaka vašo družboŠentanski rudnikV petkilometrskem jamskem sistemu nekdanjega rudnika živega srebra na Lajbu živi škrat Šentanček. Odkar so od tu odšli rudarji, mu je kar malo dolgčas. Rudarjem je rad pomagal; pokazal jim je nahajališča živega srebra, v zameno pa je pričakoval malico, in če malice ni bilo, je rudarjem ponagajal tako, da je skril njihovo malico. Če ga želimo videti, moramo biti zelo iznajdljivi … Pa veliko sreče!

/ “Šentanček” looks forward to your company St. Anne Mine In the five-kilometre-long system of shafts of the former mercury mine in Lajb lives a gnome called Šentanček. He used to help the miners by showing them where mercury could be found. If he wasn't given anything to eat, he would play a trick on the miners and hide their lunch. If you want to see one you will need to be very resourceful. Good luck!
