Parasailing @ Brighton

People @ Brighton

Brighton International School organized a para sailing session on 28 March 2014 for the students, the idea behind the session was to enjoy flying and make them think and understand the opportunities available in this adventurous sport which can be opted as a career option too. SQN LDR S.P.S. Kaushik (Ex. Indian Air Force), Sky Diving & Parasailing Instructor along with his troupe conducted the class and made students aware about the do’s and don’ts of it. Students enjoyed the session and exhibited their ardour to learn more about para gliding. The highly enthusiastic group was got assured to have a flying session. Extracurricular activities add to the personality of the individual and help them to take things in a different perspective.

As an attempt to reach out to various people of repute amongst the people of Raipur, Brighton believes in calling them for a dialogue with the students as well as making students visit their homes. A seminar was organised to discuss the impact of music from the movies and students paid a visit to Dr. Teejan Bai.

Every creature needs to rest. Giraffes, little babies, elephants, dogs, cats, kids, koala bears, grandparents, moms, dads, and hippos in the jungle – they all sleep! Just like eating, sleeping is necessary for survival.Sleep gives our body rest and allows it to prepare for the next day. It's like giving our body a mini vacation. Sleep also gives our brain a chance to sort things out. Scientist aren't exactly sure what kinds of organizing our brain does while we sleep, but they think that sleep might be the time when the brain sorts and stores information, replaces chemicals, solves problems. The amount of sleep a person needs depends a lot on his or her age. Babies sleep a lot – about 14 to 15 hours a day! But many older people only need about 7 to 8 hours of sleep each night. Most kids might need more and some needs less. It depends on the kid.

walked into a Smokey room? If so you may have noticed your eyes tearing up as protection against the smoke. Even though the particle that makes up smoke is too small to see, they can still bug your eyes. Eyes might also water if you're around an onion that's being peeled or chopped. The prunes onion gives off actually contains chemicals that can get in your eyes and make them hurt. Things that can dry out your eyes, like- cold air or wind will make eyes water too, so protect the eyes from getting too dry, the tear glands crank out the tears. Imagine skiing down a hill with dry eyes as all that wind rushed at you. That would really hurt! Eyes also tear when they have allergies, infections like cold, conjuctivities. All of these irritations can inflame the eyes and make them water.

Eyes water for lots of different reasons besides crying –anything that irritates the eye can bring on tears because the eye will try to wash it out. So when something gets stuck in there-like dirt or an eyelash- here comes the tear! You can't always see the stuff that gets in your eyes. Have you ever

Columbus was a wise manWho thought the earth was roundHe planned to sail across the seaWhere trading could be found!

Though Kings did not believe in himAnd men thought he would failHe found one friend, the Spanish QueenWho gave him ships to sail

The crew rebelled, the sea was rough; In 1492, still this brave man kept sailing onIn spite of sea and crew

But when they spied America, They landed with a cheerAnd that is why we celebrate Columbus Day each year!
