Consultant to Fredskorpset (Norwegian Peace Corps) Asia Regional Office, Thailand • Design the curriculum, facilitate learning sessions and team building

activities • Manage implementation and facilitate some training sessions of 20

batches of the Fredskorpset Preparatory Course in Asia. Fredskorpset facilitates exchanges of young professionals between Norway and developing countries in Asia, Africa and Latin America. Exchange programs are intended to enable young professionals to use their skills in working for a partner employer in another country in order to enhance capacity of the organizations.

AIT Extension is the training and outreach arm of the Asian Institute of Technology (AIT) located in Thailand. It organizes short-term education and training programs and consultancy services that respond to clients’ continuing professional and organizational capacity building needs. Areas of expertise include agriculture; education development; environment and natural resources management; information technology; infrastructure; business and development management; rural-regional development and other specific technological areas.

procurement of different electrical and mechanical devices to effectively maximize cost reduction.

• Provide technical support during production of various telecommunication packages and equipment manufactured by the company.

• Responsible for translation of Japanese technical specifications into English.

NEC Technologies Philippines, Inc. is a subsidiary of Japan’s telecommunication company NEC. It manufactures telecommunication equipment and devices and develops software for telecommunication systems.

ACCOMPLISHMENTS AND SELECTED ASSIGNMENTS

1. Over ten years of experience in designing/developing curriculum and coordinating short-

term (one week to 3 months) international training programs, workshops, seminars and study tours based on analysis of identified needs and objectives set by clients. The participants of these programs were mostly middle management officers from various countries in the Asia-Pacific region. Some of the program topics/titles were:

16. Edited project documents for Thailand Environment Institute (TEI) in relation to the Monitoring of MDG Achievement in three provinces of Thailand namely, Mae Hong Son, Nakhon Phanom and Trang. The documents which included project proposals and reports were submitted to Thailand NESDB and UNDP which are the project partners. January - March 2007.

17. Assisted in designing the curriculum and coordinated four batches of three-month ToT course on English medium instruction for Sri Lankan provincial teacher trainers in 2003-2005 with 25 participants per batch. These training courses were under the ADB-funded Secondary Education Modernization Project (SEMP) of the Ministry of Education, Sri Lanka.

18. Facilitated learning sessions of three batches of 3-month training courses on Education Management and Policy Support for education officials of the ADB funded Secondary Education Sector Improvement Project (SESIP), Bangladesh, 2003-2005.

19. Facilitated learning sessions in ToT course for four batches of Thai public health officials in 2001-2004 with 15-20 participants per batch. The courses focused on adult learning principles, designing training frameworks and appropriate use of learner-centered training methodologies. The UNFPA funded program was a collaborative activity between the Department of Technical and Economic Cooperation (DTEC) of Thailand and Asian Institute of Technology.

20. Conducted a research study on the Assessment of Internet Technology for Integration into the Higher Education Teachers’ Instructional Support System in Cambodia, Laos, and Vietnam in September 2000 – November 2001 funded by IDRC, Canada.
