Olim pias

W hat is the nex t st ep for the W asatex project? I s i t now com ple te?

Wasatex, Water Saving Processes for Text ile Product ion, is a Olim pias Group indust r ial project

for the wastewater t reatm ent in Osijek (Croat ia) that enables water recovery up to 100% , in

various product ion stages. I t is the first water t reatm ent plant in Europe with these

characterist ics and the project has been financed by the European Com m unity in order t o

study and develop innovat ive processes for the reuse of water.

Today the plant is com plete and able to recover about 70% of the processes water, the next

step is to go to 100% in order to have a full close water circuit . From a technical point of view

to recover the last 30% is m ore difficult than the 0-70% range, and specific studies will be

developed taking also in account that EC is highly interested in this second step of the project .

I n the next m onths the object ives are to assess the environm ental perform ances as well,

through a com parat ive "LCA oriented" m ethodology. I n part icular there will be an em issions

com parat ive account ing based on consum pt ion of the recent ly renovated wastewater plant

com pared to previous condit ion, in order t o quant ify the em issions savings of the new water

t reatm ent plant .

The value of CO2eq saved can be encoded in a label on each clothing item m ade in Osijek

product ion facilit y.



I s t here a f inancia l re turn on th is investm ent for Olim pias? Does the technology pay

for it se lf?

Olim pias will m onitor the plant for the next 6-12 m onths both from a technical and econom ic

point of view. Today we have forecasted the following econom ic and environm ental

perform ances:

According with our forecasts the plant has a posit ive econom ic evaluat ion.

W ill t h is technology be used at other Olim pias plants?

After the m onitoring period the idea is to adopt this technology in other Olim pias Group

factories; som e prelim inary studies are ongoing in Tunisian Olim pias Group plants.

Has t he business learnt any lessons from using the t echnology so far? I f so, w hat a re

thes e?

As stated is too early to m ake a definit ive judgm ent from a technical and econom ic point of

view, but the prem ises are prom ising and it should be underlined that to do all that it was not

necessary to redo the ent ire water t reatm ent plant , which has cont inued to work even during

st ructural adjustm ent . The changes m ade to the plant in Osijek did not required m ajor

st ructural alterat ions.

Here sum m arized the m ain goals and object ives in developing Wasatex:

90% of water reuse

The m ain object ive of Wasatex is to save water.



Consum pt ion is im m ediately reduced: the plant used 1,600 m 3/ day of water of which only

10.5% was com ing from recovery t reatm ents. Today the percentage of reused water rose to

about 70% , or 1,000 m 3/ day. About 1000 m 3/ day leass water is drawn from the well.

Potent ially the plant can reach a level of water reuse of 90% .

Less energy

Saving water also saves energy related to it s heat ing thereby reducing CO2 em issions. The

recycled water has an average tem perature of 30° C, against a well water t em perat ure of 15°

C; you will get an energy saving since the boiler will heat the water up to the operat ing

tem perature, start ing from a tem perature of 30° C i nstead of 15° C.

Less CO2 equivalent

Whereas CO2 em issions of natural gas burned am ount to 2,276 g / Nm 3 and that now there is

a reduct ion of natural gas consum pt ion of 1,832 Nm 3 / day, the CO2 em issions will be reduced

by approxim ately 4,170 kg CO2 / day, equal to 1,251 tons of CO2 / year.

Less running costs, sustainabilit y pays off

With the new plant savings related to operat ing costs will reach alm ost 400,000 €/ year.

U Bruxellesu ju 28. i 29. listopada Europsko udruženje tekst ilne i odjevne indust r ij e Euratex

održalo dvij e konferencije.

Konferencija I nnovat ing for Sustainabillit y in European Text ile & Clothing indust ry u hotelu

Husa President izazvala je veliko zanimanje članica iz svih zemalja EU. Uvodnu prezentacij u

čija je teme bila inovacije za razvoj tekstilne industrije održao je predsj ednik Europske

tekst ilne plat form e Paolo Canonico.

Nakon uvodnog predavanja, konferencija se razdvoj ila na t r i usporedne program ske akt ivnost i:

b) . Obnovlj ivi izvori energij e u proizvodnj i tekst ila – Voda

c) . Digitalizacij a

U sklopu Program ske akt ivnost i Obnovlj ivi izvori u proizvodnj i tekst ila hrvatska tvrtka

Olim pias Group d. o. o. predstavila j e proj ekt novog post rojenja za obradu tehnološke vode.

Post roj enje je pod nazivom projekt Wasatex sufinancirala Europska unija u sklopu inicij at ive

CI P Eko- Innovation i temelji se na novoj tehnologiji, zahvaljujući kojoj je moguće reciklirati gotovo svu količinu vode kojom se koriste prilikom pranja i bojenja odjeće.

Olimpias Group će cijeli projekt predstaviti u srijedu, 11. studenoga, u 9 sati i 30 minuta, u sjedištu u Osijeku. Dolazak su najavile brojne t vrtke, i iz Hrvatske, i iz cij ele Europe, ali i

predstavnici Europske kom isij e, državnih i lokalnih vlast i te Sektora za indust r ij u i IT HGK.



U četvrtak, 29. listopada, održala se konferencija EU Funding Seminar & TEPPIES Project Brokerage event na koj oj su predstavnici Europske kom isij e te Lutz Walter iz Europske

tekst ilne plat form e predstavili dosadašnja iskustva, ali i mogućnosti HORIZON 2020 za tekst ilne i odjevne tvrtke. U drugom dijelu konferencije predstavlj eni su projekt i koj i su u

priprem i, a na koj im a se t raže partneri.

Nella stessa data l’assemblea ha approvato la modifica della ragione sociale da Maria Grazia Serveri Spa in Manufactur ing Models Brand Spa ( in form a abbreviata MMB Spa ) . Una nota spiega che l’obiet t ivo dell’operazione è rafforzare i m archi Maria Grazia Severi, Maria Grazia Sever i W hite ( linea giovane) e Sever i Dar ling (conform ato) sui m ercat i internazionali, in part icolare quelli dell’Europa dell’Est , olt re che aprire il primo monom arca della griffe a Milano. La casa di m oda m odenese ha appena siglato un accordo di licenza per la produzione e la dist r ibuzione del brand francese Ple in Sud , disegnato dallo st ilistaFaycal Am or . I talian tex t ile m achinery m anufacturers are occupying nearly 30 per cent of the total available surface

area and are m ajor players at the 17th edit ion of ITMA, the world's forem ost t rade fair dedicated to

text ile m achinery, current ly going on in I talian cit y of Milan, the Associat ion of I talian Text ile Machinery

Manufacturers (ACIMIT) said.

The 454 I talian m achinery m anufacturers exhibit ing at the fair are showcasing a high level of technology.

“These num bers not only rank I taly first am ong exhibit ing count r ies, but are a t rue testam ent to the

vitalit y of our sector, and confirm the good state of health of the I talian text ile indust ry,” said ACI MIT

president Raffaella Carabelli in a press release.

For som e t ime now, I talian m achinery m anufacturers have been focusing on the issue

of susta inabilit y for their products, in order to sat isfy the dem and for efficient technology solut ions that

effect ively cut back on consum pt ion, and consequent ly on product ion costs. ”Our associat ion has been

com m it ted to the issues of environm ental and econom ic sustainabilit y since 2010, with the 'Sustainable

Technologies' project , to which over 40 com panies have adhered,” states ACI MI T's president .

At ITMA, ACIMIT will present to specialised press the 'Sustainable Technologies' project 's effects on CO2

em issions. Based on est imates elaborated by the engineering firm D'Appolonia, in 2014 the reduct ion of

CO2 em issions generated by the use of environm entally green cert ified I talian m achinery in accordance

with the 'Sustainable Technologies' project am ounted to 221,181 tonnes of CO2, equivalent to the

em issions of 38,534 cars t ravelling on average 35,000 kilom et res per year.

“This is the cont r ibut ion our sector can m ake to the ent ire indust ry. Bearing witness to this com mitm ent ,

the press conference will be followed by a sustainable fashion show,” adds Carabelli. Five young

designers will provide an interpretat ion of sustainable fabrics supplied by six text ile m anufacturers—

Besani, Canepa, Dit ta Giovanni Lanfranchi, Eurojersey, I taldenim and Tessitura At t ilio Im periali—with a

st rong com m itm ent to environm entally responsible policies and m ake use of I talian m achinery.

Marzot to: « Gli u lt im i t re m esi diff icili, m a il set tore crescerà de l 5 % »

I n at tesa di vedere se gli at tentat i terror ist ici che hanno sconvolto Parigi nei giorni scorsi avranno un im pat to negat ivo sui consum i di m oda, Gaetano Marzot to, presidente di Pit t i Imm agine, alla conferenza stam pa di presentazione della prossim a edizione di Pit t i Uom o si lancia in una previsione posit iva per il com parto: «Credo che il 2016 sarà posit ivo, cerchiam o di fare un + 5% soprat tut to grazie al m ercato estero. I l clim a per ora è di stabilità. Avrem o una chiusura del 2015 posit iva intorno al 5% ». Ma int roducendo la prossim a edizione del salone fiorent ino in program m a dal 12 al 15 gennaio 2016 alla Fortezza da basso di Firenze non nasconde che gli ult im i t re m esi sono stat i più difficili del previsto. «La colpa è del rallentamento dei consum i in Cina - fa il punto - , m ent re l'Am erica, che doveva essere la vera locomot iva, con il dollaro così forte ha im portato di più, m a ha consum ato di m eno. Gli am ericani hanno in parte sost ituito i cinesi qui in Europa sul piano delle presenze tur ist iche». Lo ha det to Gaetano Marzot to, presidente di Pit t i Im m agine uom o, alla conferenza stam pa di presentazione di Pit t i Uomo, dal 12 al 15 gennaio 2016 alla Fortezza da Basso di Firenze. «I Paesi in via di sviluppo sono stat i in grave difficoltà, com e Brasile e Aust ralia. «La Russia è stato uno dei paesi più in cr isi, e l'abbiam o avvert ito molto su Pit t i Bim bo - cont inua Marzot to - m a per fortuna si sta lentam ente r iprendendo. A supporto delle parole del presidente di Pit t i Im magine, le st im e relat ive al 2015 diffuse oggi in conferenza stam pa. I n base a una nota elaborata da Herm es lab, il fat turato dell' indust r ia italiana della m oda e degli accessori crescerà del 5% , t rainato dalle esportazioni (+ 7% ) . L'export raggiungerà i 60,5 m iliardi nel 2015. Grazie a queste perform ance l’I talia resta il Paese europeo con il più elevato saldo com m erciale posit ivo con l’estero. La quota delle esportazioni m ondiali dell’I talia è del 6,7 per cento. I l nost ro Paese si conferm a quindi il m aggior esportatore m ondiale, dopo la Cina, di prodot t i m oda e accessori.
