Rare Play Booklet, version 1 How To Implement Any time an X Chart reading is required, first roll 2d6. If the two dice equal 2 or 12, consult the Rare Play Chart. Otherwise, proceed as you normally would. If you like the RP results in the Fielding Charts when playing Super Advanced, then only use this Rare Play Chart if the two dice equal 2. If you’d rather pass on the RP results in SADV Fielding Charts, then use this Rare Play Chart if you roll 2 or 12 and, if you need to use the SADV Fielding Chart and roll up an RP, ignore it and reroll. Or go ahead and use it if you’d like. There’s no hard and fast rule here other than to have fun. This is just a suggestion. Rare Play If a Rare Play is called for, roll d6. On a roll of 1, use the Miscellaneous Chart. On all other rolls, use the chart associated with the fielder being tested. In either case, make sure to match up the base situation. Fielder Check Using the player’s Basic fielding rating, roll d20 to find the correct play result. 1 2 3 4 5 A 117 110 B 1820 1120 110 13 C 1120 420 120 Outfielder Assignment Roll d20. 16 = LF, 714 = CF, 1520 = RF A Note on Injuries You may be concerned about the presence of injuries in these results. But crunching the numbers, it should result in no more than one extra injury to a team per 25 games or so. I feel this is fairly negligible. I just played a 90game project using these charts and ended up with exactly zero injuries that occurred as a result of these charts. Small sample size aside, I don’t think this will adversely affect your gameplay experience. Contact Chris Witt [email protected] 1

Miscellaneous Chart Men on 1st & 3rd, cont. [1416] Man on 1st attempts to steal. Defense has choice:

Hold runner on 3rd and concede stolen base to runner from 1st. Throw runner out from 1st (2634) in a rundown, allowing runner to score from 3rd. Cutoff throw to 2nd and attempt to get runner coming from 3rd. If this choice, roll d6. Odd roll

means runner thrown out at home on a 262 and man on 1st moves up to 2nd on a SB. Even roll means both runners are safe on a double SB.

[17] Catcher goes for a foul ball towards the stands. He makes the catch but collides with a wall and falls. If there are 2 outs and the man on 3rd has Running of 16 or higher, he tags up and scores. Either way, catcher is injured. [18] Batter hits ball off his foot and is affected. While not technically injured, his Running is reduced by 4 for the remainder of the game. Batter is then thrown out at 2nd on a 724. Fielder Left Fielder Man on 3rd [13] Use Fielder Check.

A  Fly out to left fielder. Runner holds. B  RBI single into left. If batter has a Running Rating of 16 or higher, he makes it to 3rd on an E7;

otherwise, he goes to second on an E7 and is then out going for 3rd on an 865. C RBI single into left. Batter advances to second on an E7.

[47] Use Fielder Check. A Fly out to left fielder. Runner holds. B If batter has a Running Rating of 10 or lower, RBI single. Otherwise, RBI double. C If batter has a Running Rating of 10 or lower, RBI single. If batter has a Running Rating of 16 or

higher, Triple. Otherwise, Double. [810] Use Fielder Check.

A Double Play fly out to left fielder. 75. B RBI single into left. If batter has a Running Rating of 16 or higher, he stretches it into a double.

Left fielder and shortstop run into each other on a high pop up into shallow left and the shortstop is injured.

C Triple into left center. If batter has a Running Rating of 16 or higher, make it an insidethepark home run. Left fielder and center fielder run into each other and both are injured.

[1116] Fly out to left fielder. If this doesn’t make three outs, the runner tags up. Take the runner’s Running Rating, subtract four and add the left fielder’s basic fielding rating. Roll d20 to see if he scores or is out on a 72. [1720] RBI single into left center. Batter tries to stretch it to a double. Take the batter’s Running Rating, subtract four and add the left fielder’s basic fielding rating. Roll d20 to see if he is safe or out on a 74.

Fielder Left Fielder Men on 1st & 2nd [13] Use Fielder Check.

A Fly out to left fielder. Runners hold. B Single into left. If man on 2nd has a Running Rating of 10 or lower, he scores on an ensuing

error; otherwise, he scores on the hit. Other runner to 3rd and batter to 2nd on an E7. C Single into left. Both runners score and the batter advances to 2nd (to 3rd if his Running Rating

is 16 or higher) on an E7. [47] Use Fielder Check.

A Fly out to left fielder. Runners hold. B SINGLE* into left field. With two outs, runners advance two bases and the batter advances to

2nd on the throw home. C Single into left field moves runners up a base. An E7 then leads to one runner scoring and

another moving to 3rd. A wild throw to 3rd for another E7 allows the other runner to score and the batter to get to 3rd. With two outs, single scores the lead runner, man on 1st gets to 3rd on an E7, and the batter gets to 2nd on the throw with no error.

[810] Use Fielder Check. A Fly out to left fielder and the runner on 2nd is doubled off on a 74. B If the batter has a Running Rating of 16 or higher, he triples and is then thrown out at the plate

on a 762. Otherwise, a double scores both runners and the batter is thrown out at 3rd on a 765. C Check Running Rating of batter.

16 or higher With two outs, Triple. With less than two outs: If man on 1st has a Running Rating of 10 or lower, 2run double and batter is thrown out at 3rd on a 865; Otherwise, triple.

15 or lower Double to left. If there are 2 outs or the man on 1st has a Running Rating of 11 or higher, the man on 1st scores.

[1115] Base hit to left. Roll against lead runner’s Running Rating. If failed, he’s out on a 72. Otherwise, he’s safe, man on 1st goes to 3rd, and the batter is thrown out going for 2nd on a 726. [1620] Diving catch into the leftcenter gap by the left fielder. If this doesn’t make 3 outs, roll against the Running Rating of the man on 2nd. If failed, he’s doubled off of 2nd on a 74 and you repeat the process for the man on 1st for a possible 743 triple play.

Fielder Left Fielder Men on 1st & 3rd [13] Use Fielder Check.

A Fly out to left fielder. Runners hold. B RBI single into left. The man on 1st moves up to 3rd on an E7 and is then thrown out at the

plate on a 72. Batter moves up to 2nd on the error and to 3rd on the throw home. C RBI single into left. The man on 1st moves to 3rd (and then scores if his Running Rating is 11

or higher) and the batter goes to 2nd on an E7. [47] Use Fielder Check.

A Fly out to left fielder. Runners hold. B If the man on 1st has a Running Rating of 10 or lower, he’s forced out at 2nd on a 74. If that

makes the 3rd out, no run scores. Otherwise, RBI single into left moves runner up to 2nd. C RBI single into left. The man on 1st moves up to 3rd on an E7 and then scores if his Running

Rating is 16 or higher. [810] Use Fielder Check.

A Fly out to left fielder. If this doesn’t make 3 outs, the lead runner is then thrown out at the plate on a 72. If this doesn’t make 3 outs and the man on 1st has a Running Rating of 16 or higher, he moves up to 2nd on the throw home.

B RBI double to left. If there are two outs, the man on 1st scores. Otherwise, if the shortstop has a basic fielding rating of 4 or worse, the man on 1st scores on an E6 due to a wild throw to the plate; Otherwise, the man on 1st is out at the plate on a 762.

C Extrabase hit into left. If the man on 1st has a Running Rating of 10 or lower, an RBI double moves him up to 3rd. Otherwise, if the batter has a Running Rating of 10 or lower, make it a 2RBI double to left; Otherwise, it’s a 2RBI triple to left.

[1120] Fly out to the warning track in left. The man on 3rd tags up and scores. The man on 1st is thrown out at 2nd on a 74. If the man on 3rd has a Running Rating that’s greater than or equal to the Running Rating of the man on 1st, the run scores before the out is made at 2nd.

Fielder Left Fielder Men on 2nd & 3rd [13] Use Fielder Check.

A Fly out to left fielder. Runners hold. B Single into left scores the runner from 3rd. An E7 gets the batter to 2nd. If man on 2nd has a

Running Rating of 11 or higher, he scores on the single; otherwise, he scores on the error. C Single into left scores the runner from 3rd. An E7 on a wild throw home gets the batter to 2nd.

If man on 2nd has a Running Rating of 11 or higher, he scores on the single; otherwise, he scores on the error.

[47] Use Fielder Check. A Fly out to left fielder. Runners hold. B With two outs, 2run single and batter to 2nd on the throw home. With less than two outs, RBI

single, man on 2nd out at the plate on a 72, and the batter moves up to 2nd on the throw home. C Left fielder misplays ball, resulting in a double. Man from 3rd scores. Man from 2nd holds at

3rd unless he has a Running Rating of 16 or higher or there are two outs, in which case he scores. [810] Use Fielder Check.

A Fly out to left fielder. Man on 3rd is doubled off on a 75. B 2RBI double into leftcenter. Batter is thrown out going for 3rd on a 765. C If the batter has a Running Rating of 10 or lower, 2RBI double into leftcenter and the batter is

thrown out going for 3rd on a 765. Otherwise, Triple. [1114] RBI single down the left field line. The man on 2nd heads for home. Roll against his Running Rating to see if he’s safe or out on a 72. Batter moves up to 2nd on the throw home. [1517] Shallow fly out to left field. The man on 3rd feigns going for home and the left fielder throws home. Roll d6. If the roll is lower than the left fielder’s basic fielding rating, the throw goes over the catcher’s head for an E7, allowing the runner to score; otherwise, the throw is on target and the man on 3rd holds. If there was an E7, then the runner from 2nd also comes around 3rd and attempts to score. Roll d6. If the roll is lower than the pitcher’s basic fielding rating, he drops the throw home from the catcher for an E1 that allows that runner to score as well; otherwise, the man from 2nd is tagged out at the plate on a 21. [1819] Fly out to left fielder. The man on 2nd holds but the man on 3rd goes for home. Roll against the Running Rating of the man on 3rd to see if he’s safe or out on a 72. [20] Deep fly ball to left. Roll d6. If the roll is higher than the left fielder’s basic fielding rating, he makes a leaping catch and the runners each tag up a base. If the roll equals his basic fielding rating, the ball goes off the tip of his glove for a triple. If the roll is less than his basic fielding rating, the ball goes over the wall for a homer; if fences are too tall to allow a fielder to rob a homer, the ball goes off the wall for a triple instead.

Fielder Left Fielder Bases Loaded [13] Use Fielder Check.

A Fly out to left fielder. Runners hold. B RBI Single + E7. The man on 2nd scores on the hit (he scores on the error if his running rating

is 10 or lower). The man on 1st moves up to 3rd and the batter to 2nd on the error. C Single into left scores two runs. The man on 1st scores on an E7. The batter goes to 2nd on

the error (or 3rd if his running rating is 16 or higher). [47] Use Fielder Check.

A Fly out to left fielder. Runners hold. B With two outs, 2run single, the man on 1st scores and the batter goes to 2nd on an E7.

Otherwise, the base hit scores one runner and then the other runners (and batter) each advance one more base on an E7.

C Single into left scores two runs. The man on 1st reaches 3rd on an E7 when the left fielder’s throw is wild. If the runner’s Running Rating is 11 or higher, he scores on the error. The batter moves up to 2nd on the E7.

[810] Use Fielder Check. A Fly out to left fielder. Runners hold. B With two outs, a double clears the bases and the batter is thrown out going for 3rd on a 765.

Otherwise, a double scores 2 runs and the man on 1st is thrown out at the plate on a 762 unless his Running Rating is 16 or higher in which case he scores.

C A Double advances runners two bases. With two outs: all three runners score and if the batter has a Running Rating of 16 or higher he triples, but if he has a running rating of 10 or lower he singles and is thrown out at 2nd on an 84. On the play, the left fielder runs into the wall and is hurt.

[1113] Shallow fly ball into left. The left fielder charges. Roll d6. If the roll is lower than his basic fielding rating, the ball goes off his glove for a 1base error (runners advance 2 bases if there are 2 outs). Otherwise, he makes a diving catch and runners hold. [1416] Fly ball down the line in left. Roll d6. If the roll is lower than the left fielder’s basic fielding rating, the ball eludes him and bounces off into the stands for a groundrule double. Otherwise, he makes the catch and the runner on 3rd tags up and scores. [1719] Fly ball into left center. Roll d6. If the roll is higher than the left fielder’s basic fielding rating, the outfielder makes the catch and the men on 2nd and 3rd tag up and each advance a base. Otherwise, the ball is dropped for an E7 that scores 3 runs; the batter is then thrown out at 3rd by the center fielder who has retrieved the ball. [20] Fly ball into left center. The left fielder and center fielder both go for ball and collide. The left fielder is injured. The center fielder gets up and goes after the ball. Compare his Running Rating to that of the batter. If the batter’s Running Rating is higher, score it as an insidethepark homer. Otherwise, the center fielder throws him out at 3rd on an 845 after the baseclearing double.

Fielder Center Fielder Man on 2nd [13] Use Fielder Check.

A Fly out to the center fielder. Runner holds. B Base hit into center field scores the runner. The batter goes to 2nd on an E8 but then overruns

the base and is out on an 86. C Base hit into center field scores the runner. The batter goes to 2nd on an E8.

[47] Use Fielder Check. A Fly out to the center fielder. If the man on 2nd has a Running Rating of 15 or lower, he’s

doubled off of 2nd on an 86. B Base hit into center field. With 2 outs, the runner scores and the batter goes for 2nd; if his

Running Rating is 10 or lower he’s thrown out on 86, otherwise he’s safe on an E8. With less than 2 outs, the runner scores and the batter moves up to 2nd on an E8.

C Base hit into center scores the runner. The batter goes to 2nd on an errant throw (E8). If the first baseman has a basic fielding rating of 1, he then throws out the batter going for 3rd on a 35; otherwise, the batter goes to 3rd on a wild throw (E3) by the first baseman.

[810] Use Fielder Check. A Fly out to the center fielder. If the runner on 2nd has a Running Rating of 16 or higher, he

scores after a rundown. Otherwise, the runner is out after making it to 3rd on an 8625. B Double after a botched pop up into center field falls in. With 2 outs, the runner scores.

Otherwise, if the runner has a Running Rating of 16 or higher, he’s out going for home on a 92; otherwise, he holds at 3rd.

C Triple scores the runner. The batter is then called out for having missed 2nd base. Change his triple to a single and credit the second baseman with the putout.

[11] Base hit into center field. The runner on 2nd heads home. The defense can choose not to throw and hold the batter at 1st, conceding the run. If they go home, roll d6. If the roll is less than the catcher’s basic fielding rating, the runner avoids the tag and scores. Otherwise, the catcher tags runner out on an 82. Either way, the batter goes to 2nd on the throw home. [1213] Deep fly out to center field. The runner may attempt to tag up for 3rd. [1415] Base hit into center field. The runner is thrown out at the plate (82) and the batter moves up to 2nd on the throw. [16] The center fielder makes an outstanding catch headed back into the gap, then rolls several times towards the wall. The runner tags up and makes 3rd. He can also attempt to come all the way around to score. If he does, roll against his Running Rating. If he is out, it’s on an 842. [1718] The center fielder dives, missing the ball which goes to the wall in rightcenter. The batter makes it an easy triple and attempts to make it an insidethepark home run. Roll d6. If the roll is greater than the second baseman’s basic fielding rating, the batter is out at the plate on an 842. Otherwise, he scores. [1920] The center fielder dives, missing the ball which goes to the wall in leftcenter. The batter makes it an easy triple and attempts to make it an insidethepark home run. Roll d6. 2nd on an 84. C RBI single to rightcenter. The batter goes to 2nd (or to 3rd if his Running Rating is 11 or higher)

on an E8. [79] Use Fielder Check.

A Fly out to the center fielder. The runner is doubled off of 3rd on an 85. B RBI single to rightcenter. The batter takes a wide turn at 1st and the center fielder throws

behind him, getting him out on an 83. C RBI single to leftcenter. The batter makes it to 2nd on an E8 when the center fielder kicks the

[1012] Shallow fly ball to center. Roll d6. If the roll is less than the center fielder’s basic fielding rating, the ball falls in for an RBI single. Otherwise, the center fielder makes a diving catch and the runner holds at 3rd. [1315] Fly out to the center fielder. If this doesn’t make 3 outs, the runner tags up. Take the runner’s Running Rating, subtract four and add the center fielder’s basic fielding rating. Roll d20 to see if he scores or is out on an 82. [1617] RBI single into leftcenter. The batter tries to stretch it to a double. Take the batter’s Running Rating, subtract four and add the center fielder’s basic fielding rating. Roll d20 to see if he is safe or out on an 84. [1820] Fly out to the center fielder. If this doesn’t make 3 outs, the runner tags up and barely scores. An appeal is made that the runner left 3rd base too early. Roll d6. If the roll is odd, the umpire rules that he left the bag too early and is doubled up.

Fielder Center Fielder Men on 1st & 2nd [13] Use Fielder Check.

A Fly out to the center fielder. Runners hold. B Base hit scores the man from 2nd. With 2 outs, the man on 1st scores after an E8 occurs on

the throw to 3rd and the batter moves up to 2nd. Otherwise, the man on 1st is thrown out at 3rd on an 85.

C Base hit into center scores the man from 2nd. The man on 1st scores and the batter advances to 2nd on an E8.

[47] Use Fielder Check. A Fly out to the center fielder. Runners hold. B SINGLE**. With less than 2 outs, if the batter has a Running Rating of 11 or higher, he’s thrown

out going for 2nd on an 836. C Single into center scores the lead runner and moves the man on 1st up to 3rd. That additional

runner then scores on an E8 and the batter moves up to 2nd on the error. The batter makes it to 3rd if his Running Rating is 11 or higher.

[810] Use Fielder Check. A Double play fly out to the center fielder, with the man on 2nd doubled off on an 86. B Double into leftcenter scores the lead runner and moves the man on 1st up to 3rd. An E8 then

allows the other runner to score and the batter to move up to 3rd. However, upon appeal, it’s revealed that the man on 2nd had missed 3rd and is ruled out credit the third baseman with a putout. The batter is no longer credited with a hit (essentially, change it to a fielder’s choice) and the lead run no longer counts. If there were 2 outs, than neither run counts.

C Double scores the lead runner. With two outs, the other runner scores as well and the batter is out going for 3rd on an 815. Otherwise, the other runner scores on an E8 and the batter is out going for 3rd on a 15.

[1112] Single into leftcenter. The lead runner goes for home. Roll against his Running Rating. Whether safe or out on an 82, if the roll is within 2 of the safe range, the man on 1st gets to 3rd and the batter to 2nd on the throw. (i.e. if Safe range is 111, then runners move up on a roll of 913.) [1320] A base hit into center scores the lead runner. The man on 1st goes for 3rd. Roll against his Running Rating to see if he’s safe. If he’s safe, the shortstop cuts off the throw and tries to get the batter going for 2nd. Roll against the batter’s Running Rating to see if he’s safe or out on an 864.

A Fly out to the center fielder. Runners hold. B Single into leftcenter scores the runner from 3rd. The man on 1st gets to 3rd on an E8 and

then scores on an additional E8 on the throw home. The batter is then thrown out going for 3rd on a 15.

C Single into rightcenter scores the man from 3rd. The man on 1st gets to 3rd on an E8. If his Running Rating is 16 or higher, he scores and the batter goes to 2nd on the throw home.

[47] Use Fielder Check. A Fly out to the center fielder. Runners hold. B Double into leftcenter. With 2 outs, the man on 1st scores; otherwise, the man on 1st scores

on an E8 and the batter is out going for 3rd on an 85. C Double. With 2 outs, the man on 1st scores; otherwise, the man on 1st scores on an E8 while

the batter makes it to 3rd on the throw home. [810] Use Fielder Check.

A Fly out to the center fielder. If this doesn’t make the 3rd out, the man on 3rd is thrown out at home plate on an 82.

B Double into leftcenter. With 2 outs, the man on 1st scores; otherwise, the man on 1st is out at home on an 862 and, if the batter has a Running Rating of 11 or higher, he is then also out going for 3rd on a 25 to complete a double play.

C Triple into leftcenter. (Make it a double if the batter has a Running Rating of 10 or lower.) The left fielder and center fielder collide and are each injured.

[1120] Blooper into center field. Roll d6. If the roll is higher than or equal to the center fielder’s basic fielding rating, he makes the catch and the runners hold. Otherwise, the ball falls for an RBI single and the man on 1st is out going for 3rd on an 85.

Fielder Center Fielder Men on 2nd & 3rd [13] Use Fielder Check.

A Fly out to the center fielder. Both runners hold. B Single into leftcenter scores both runners. The batter moves up to 2nd on an E8. C Single into rightcenter scores both runners. The batter moves up to 3rd on an E8. (If his

Running Rating is 10 or lower, he stops at 2nd.) [47] Use Fielder Check.

A Fly out to the center fielder. The man on 2nd is doubled off on an 84. B Base hit into leftcenter scores the lead runner. The man on 2nd stops at 3rd. The batter

rounds 1st too far and is thrown out by the catcher after a throw home on a 23. C Double to leftcenter. (If the batter has a Running Rating of 10 or lower, make this a Single

instead.) With two outs or if the man on 2nd has a Running Rating of 11 or higher, then both runners score; otherwise, the man on 2nd stops at 3rd.

[810] Use Fielder Check. A Fly out to the center fielder. Both runners hold. B Double into rightcenter. The center fielder runs into the wall and is injured. The batter is out

going for 3rd on a 945. C If the batter has a Running Rating of 16 or higher, the batter picks up an insidethepark homer.

If his Running Rating is 10 or lower, make it a Double. Otherwise, make it a Triple. [1115] RBI single into leftcenter. The man on 2nd heads home. Roll against his Running Rating to see if he’s safe or out on an 82. The batter moves up to 2nd on the throw home. [1619] Sinking liner into center. Roll d6. If the roll is less than the center fielder’s basic fielding rating, then the ball falls for a single, scoring one run while the other runner is thrown out at the plate on an 82. Otherwise, he makes a lunging catch and both runners hold. [20] Deep fly ball into center. Roll d6. If the roll is higher than the center fielder’s basic fielding rating, he makes a leaping catch and both runners tag up a base. If the roll equals the center fielder’s basic fielding rating, the ball goes off the tip of his glove for a triple. If the roll is less than the center fielder’s basic fielding rating, the ball goes over the wall for a homer. (If the fences are too tall to allow a fielder to rob a homer, the ball goes off the wall for a triple instead.)

Fielder Center Fielder Bases Loaded [13] Use Fielder Check.

A Fly out to the center fielder. All runners hold. B Single into center + E8. With two outs, runners advance two bases instead of one and, in

addition, if the man on 1st has a Running Rating of 16 or higher, he also scores. C Single into center scores two runs. On an E8, the man scores from 1st and batter goes to 2nd.

If the batter has a Running Rating of 16 or higher, he makes it all the way to 3rd on the error. [47] Use Fielder Check.

A Fly out to the center fielder. All runners hold. B A single into rightcenter advances the runners one base when the center fielder and right fielder

collide, injuring both. With two outs, the runners advance two bases and the batter is thrown out going for 2nd on a 46 after the second baseman collects the ball.

C Single scores two runners. The man on 1st goes to 3rd on an E8. If the man on 1st has a Running Rating of 16 or higher, he comes around to score on the error and the batter goes to 2nd on the throw home.

[810] Use Fielder Check. A Fly ball bounces off the right fielder and is caught by the center fielder for a 98. All runners

hold. B Single into leftcenter scores the man from 3rd, but the man on 2nd passes him on the bases

and is ruled out credit the third baseman with the putout. The batter is out going for 2nd on an 864 for a double play. If there were 2 outs, the run doesn’t count and the batter isn’t credited with a hit either.

C Single into rightcenter advances the runners two bases. The man on 1st scores and the batter goes to 2nd on an E8 as the center fielder’s throw to 3rd is wild. If the batter has a Running Rating of 10 or lower, he’s out going for 2nd on a 54; if there were 2 outs, the run scores before he is thrown out.

[1120] Shallow fly ball into leftcenter. The center fielder charges. Roll d6. If the roll is lower than the center fielder’s basic fielding rating, the ball goes off his glove for a onebase error; runners advance 2 bases if there are 2 outs. Otherwise, he makes a diving catch and all runners hold.

[1114] Long fly ball to right. Roll d6. If the roll is higher than the right fielder’s basic fielder rating The right fielder gets a late break but

catches up to ball for the out. If the roll is less than or equal to the right fielder’s basic fielder rating The right fielder gets a late

break and the ball goes off their glove for a twobase error. Roll d6 a second time. If the roll is again less than or equal to the right fielder’s basic fielding rating, the batter turns it into a threebase error.

[1520] A looping fly ball into right. Roll d6. If the roll is greater than or equal to the right fielder’s basic fielder’s rating The right fielder makes

the catch on the run for an out. Otherwise The right fielder misses the catch and the ball gets behind him. Subtract your roll from

the outfielder’s basic fielding rating to find out how many bases the batter ends up getting.

Fielder Right Fielder Man on 1st [13] Use Fielder Check.

A Fly out to the right fielder. Runner holds. B Single into right field. The runner and the batter each advance an extra base on an E9. The

man on 1st scores if there are two out; otherwise, if his Running Rating is 10 or lower, he holds at 3rd but if it’s 11 or higher he is out trying to score on a 92.

C Single into right field. The runner scores and the batter advances to 2nd on an E9. If the batter has a Running Rating of 10 or lower, he holds at 1st instead of advancing.

[47] Use Fielder Check. A Fly out to the right fielder. The right fielder then doubles the runner off of 1st on a 93. B Double down the line into right. The runner scores on an E9. The batter is thrown out going for

3rd on a 9425. C Double down the line into right. With two outs, the runner scores. Otherwise, the runner scores

on a bad throw (E9) by the right fielder and the batter makes it into 3rd on the error. [810] Use Fielder Check.

A Single into right field. The batter is thrown out rounding 1st too widely on a 93. The runner goes to 3rd if his Running Rating is 11 or higher.

B Single into right field. If the man on 1st has a Running Rating of 11 or higher, he goes to 3rd. C With two outs, RBI triple down the right field line. Otherwise, a double to right moves the runner

up to 3rd. [1120] Double over the right fielder’s head. The man on 1st can attempt to score. If he does attempt, the defense has the following two options.

Try to throw the runner out. If so, roll against their Running Rating. The batter moves up to 3rd on the throw home.

Cut off the throw home, conceding the run and getting the batter out at third on a 9435

Fielder Right Fielder Man on 2nd [13] Use Fielder Check.

A Fly out to the right fielder. Runner holds. B Base hit into right field. With two outs, the runner scores on the hit; otherwise, the runner

scores and the batter moves up to 2nd on an E9 after a wild throw to the plate by the right fielder. The batter is then thrown out going for 3rd on a 15.

C Base hit into right field. With 2 outs, the runner scores on the hit; otherwise, he scores on an error. Either way, the batter advances to 2nd on an E9.

[47] Use Fielder Check. A Fly out to the right fielder. The runner is doubled off of 2nd on a 96. B If the batter has a Running Rating of 10 or lower, he’s thrown out on a 93 after bouncing one

into right field. Otherwise, it’s a base hit into right field. If the play doesn’t result in the 3rd out, the runner scores.

C Base hit into right field. With two outs, the runner scores on the hit; otherwise, he scores on an error on the throw home (E9) that also allows the batter to move up to 2nd. If the catcher has a basic fielding rating of 1, the batter is not safe at 2nd and is instead thrown out going for 2nd on a 26.

[810] Use Fielder Check. A Base hit into right field scores the runner. If the batter has a Running Rating of 11 or higher, he

goes for 2nd and is thrown out on a 936. B Double into rightcenter scores the runner. If the batter has a Running Rating of 11 or higher, he

is out going for 3rd on a 95. C If the batter has a Running Rating of 10 or lower, RBI double down the line in right. Otherwise,

RBI triple to right field corner and the batter is out trying to make it an insidetheparker on a 942. [1112] Base hit to right. The runner on 2nd heads home. The defense can choose not to throw and hold the runner at 1st. If they go home, roll d6. If the roll is less than the catcher’s basic fielding rating, the runner avoids the tag and scores. Otherwise, the catcher tags the runner out for a 92. Either way, the batter goes to 2nd on the throw home. [1316] Deep fly out to right field. The runner may attempt to tag up for 3rd. [1720] Base hit into right field. The runner is thrown out at the plate on a 92 and the batter moves up to 2nd on the throw home.

Fielder Right Fielder Man on 3rd [13] Use Fielder Check.

A Fly out to the right fielder. Runner can attempt to tag up. B RBI single into right field. Batter goes to 2nd on an E9. If the batter has a Running Rating of 16

or higher, he goes to 3rd. Otherwise, he is out going for 3rd on a 945. C RBI single into right field. Batter to 2nd on an E9.

[47] Use Fielder Check. A Fly out to the right fielder. Runner holds. B Sharp single into right. If there are 2 outs or the runner has a Running Rating of 16 or higher, he

scores; otherwise he is thrown out on a 92. C RBI single into right field. The batter goes to 2nd on an E9. If the batter’s Running Rating is 16

or higher, he goes to 3rd and is then out trying to score on a 942. If his Running Rating is between 11 and 15, he goes to 3rd and stops there.

[810] Use Fielder Check. A Fly out to the right fielder. The runner thought the ball would fall and is doubled off of 3rd on a

95. B RBI single into right as the right fielder and second baseman collide going for the ball. Roll d6

for each fielder an odd roll means that the fielder is hurt. C If the batter has a Running Rating of 16 or higher, it’s a triple; otherwise, it’s a double. The

center fielder and the right fielder collide going for a ball in the gap. Roll d6 for each fielder an odd roll means that the fielder is hurt.

[1116] Fly out to the right fielder. If this doesn’t make the third out, the runner tags up. Take the runner’s Baserunning Rating, subtract four and add the right fielder’s basic fielding rating. Roll d20 to see if he scores or is out on a 92. [1720] RBI single into right field. The batter tries to stretch it to a double. Take the batter’s Running Rating, subtract four and add the right fielder’s basic fielding rating. Roll d20 to see if he is safe or is out on a 94.

Fielder Right Fielder Men on 1st & 2nd [13] Use Fielder Check.

A Fly out to the right fielder. Runner on 2nd can attempt to tag up. B RBI single into right field scores the runner from 2nd. The man on 1st scores and the batter

goes to 2nd on an E9 after the throw home is wild. The batter is then out going for 3rd on a 1656. C Base hit into right field. The batter goes to 2nd and both runners score on an E9. If the batter

has a Running Rating of 16 or higher, he makes it to 3rd. [47] Use Fielder Check.

A Fly out to the right fielder. Runners holds. B Single into right field. Both runners score and the batter goes to 2nd on an E9 after the ball

goes through his legs to the wall. If the batter has a Running Rating of 11 or higher, he makes it to 3rd.

C Double to right field scores the man from 2nd and moves the other man to 3rd. The other runner scores and the batter gets to 3rd on an E9. The batter is then thrown out trying to score on a 942. If there are two outs, it’s a double that scores both runners and the batter advances to (and holds at) 3rd on an E9.

[810] Use Fielder Check. A  Fly out to the right fielder. The man on 2nd is doubled off on a 96. B  Single into right field. If the man on 2nd has a Running Rating of 16 or higher, he scores;

otherwise, he’s out at the plate on a 92. The man on 1st moves up to 3rd. If the batter has a Running Rating of 16 or higher, he goes to 2nd on the throw home; otherwise, he’s out at 2nd on a 26.

C Single into right field. Both runners and the batter advance a base on an E9 after a poor throw home. The pitcher backs up the throw home and then makes a wild throw to 3rd, allowing another run to score on an E1. The left fielder handles the loose ball and throws the batter out at home on a 72.

[1114] Base hit into right scores the lead runner. The man on 1st goes for 3rd. Roll against his Running Rating to see if he’s safe or out on a 92. If he’s safe, the shortstop cuts off the throw and tries to get the batter going for 2nd. Roll against the batter’s Running Rating to see if he’s safe or out on an 964. [1519] Base hit into right. The lead runner tries to score. Take his Baserunning Rating, subtract three and add the right fielder’s basic fielding rating. If either of the middle infielders has a basic fielding rating of 1, subtract another two from the base runner’s Running Rating. Roll d20 to see if he scores or is out 92. If the runner is safe, the man on 1st goes to 3rd and the batter advances to 2nd on the throw home. [20] Hard line out to the right fielder who tries to double the runner off 1st. Take the runner’s Running Rating, subtract four and add the right fielder’s basic fielding rating. Roll to see if he gets back safe or not.

Fielder Right Fielder Men on 1st & 3rd [13] Use Fielder Check.

A Fly out to the right fielder. The man on 3rd can attempt to tag up. B RBI single into right field scores the runner from 3rd. The man on 1st tries to go to 3rd after a

misplay in right. If he has a Running Rating of 10 or lower, he’s out on a 95; otherwise, he’s safe at 3rd on an E9.

C RBI single into right field scores the runner from 3rd. The man on 1st goes to 3rd on an E9 and then scores on another E9 after a wild throw home. The batter moves up to 2nd on the throw.

[47] Use Fielder Check. A Fly out to the right fielder. Both runners hold. B The right fielder misplays a fly ball and it drops in for a single, advancing both runners one base.

If there are both two outs and the man on 1st has a Running Rating of 16 or higher, he scores and the batter goes to 2nd on the throw home. If there are both two outs and the man on 1st has a Running Rating of 15 or lower, he goes to 3rd. If there are less than two outs and the man on 1st has a Running Rating of 11 or higher, he is out trying for 3rd on a 95.

C Double into shallow right field after the second baseman and right fielder collide. Roll d6 for each fielder an odd roll means that the fielder is hurt.

[810] Use Fielder Check. A Fly out to the right fielder. If that doesn’t make three outs, the man on 3rd is out at the plate on

a 92. If the man on 1st has a Running Rating of 16 or higher, he goes to 2nd on the throw home. B Double down the line in right field. With two outs, both runners score. With less than two outs,

if the man on 1st has a Running Rating of 10 or lower, he stops at 3rd and the batter stops at 2nd. With less than two outs, if the man on 1st has a Running Rating of 11 or higher, he scores and the batter is out going for 3rd on a 935.

C Triple scores both runners. The batter scores on an E9 when the right fielder’s throw sails over the second baseman’s head.

[1120] A drive into the gap is caught by the right fielder on the run. The man on 3rd scores if this doesn’t make three outs. The man on 1st had assumed the ball would fall in for a hit and races back to 1st. Roll against his Running Rating to see if he makes it back to 1st or is doubled up on a 93.

Fielder Right Fielder Men on 2nd & 3rd [13] Use Fielder Check.

A Fly out to the right fielder. Both runners can attempt to tag up. B If the batter has a Running Rating of 16 or higher, triple down the right field line. Otherwise,

2RBI double down the right field line and the batter is then thrown out at 3rd on a 945. C 2RBI single into right field. If the batter has a Running Rating of 10 or lower, he moves up to

2nd on an E9; otherwise he goes all the way to 3rd on an E9. [47] Use Fielder Check.

A Fly out to the right fielder. The man on 3rd can attempt to tag up. B Single into right field. With two outs, both runners score. The right fielder, second baseman,

and first baseman all go for a ball in shallow right field and collide. Roll d6 for each fielder an odd roll means that the fielder is hurt.

C 2RBI single to right field. The batter goes to 3rd on an E9 and then scores on an E4 when the second baseman’s relay throw to 3rd goes into the crowd.

[810] Use Fielder Check. A Fly out to the right fielder. The man on 2nd is doubled up on a 96. B If the batter has a Running Rating of 10 or lower, he’s out on a 93 and, if this doesn’t make

three outs, the runners each advance one base. Otherwise, a single into right field advances the runners one base.

C 2RBI double to right field. If the batter has a Running Rating of 16 or higher, he scores on an E9; otherwise, he goes to 3rd on an E9.

[1115] 2RBI single into right field. The batter rounds 1st too widely and is thrown out on a 93. [1618] Shallow fly out to the right fielder. The man on 3rd feigns going for home and the right fielder throws home. Roll d6. If the roll is lower than the right fielder’s basic fielding rating, his throw goes over the catcher’s head for an E9, allowing the runner to score; otherwise, the throw is on target and both runners hold. If there was an error, then the runner from 2nd rounds 3rd base and attempts to score. Roll d6. If the roll is lower than the pitcher’s basic fielding rating, the pitcher drops the throw home from the catcher for an E1 that allows that runner to score as well; otherwise, the man from 2nd is tagged out at the plate on a 21. [19] Fly out to the right fielder. The man on 2nd holds but the man on 3rd goes for home. Roll against the Running Rating of the man on 3rd to see if he’s safe or out on a 92. [20] Deep fly ball to right field. Roll d6. If the roll is higher than the right fielder’s basic fielding rating, then the right fielder makes a leaping catch and the runners each tag up a base. If the roll is equals to the right fielder’s basic fielding rating, then the ball goes off the tip of his glove for a triple. If the roll is less than the right fielder’s basic fielding rating, then the ball goes over the wall for a home run. (If the fences are too tall to allow a fielder to rob a homer, then the ball goes off the wall for a triple instead.)

Fielder Right Fielder Bases Loaded [13] Use Fielder Check.

A Fly out to the right field. All runners hold B RBI single into right field followed by an E9. The man on 2nd scores on the hit if his Running

Rating is 11 or higher; otherwise he scores on the error. The man on 1st scores on the error and the batter advances to second.

C 2RBI single into right field. The man on 1st scores on an E9 which also allows the batter to move up to 2nd. If the batter has a Running Rating of 16 or higher, he makes it all the way to 3rd.

[47] Use Fielder Check. A Fly out to the right fielder. The man on 3rd can attempt to tag up. B Initially appears to be a 2RBI single to right field that advances all base runners two bases.

However, the play is reviewed and it’s decided that the man on 2nd missed 3rd base. If there were two outs, no runs scored. Otherwise, only one run counts and you do not give the batter a single. The man on 2nd is out with a putout credited to the third baseman.

C Baseclearing double down the right field line. The batter is thrown out going for 3rd on a 94.5. [810] Use Fielder Check.

A Fly out to the right fielder. The man on 3rd scores. B With two outs, a single to right field after the man on 1st passes the man on 2nd between 2nd

and 3rd and is ruled out (credit the third baseman with a putout) and only the lead run counts. Otherwise, a double moves the runners two bases; if the man on 1st has a Running Rating of 11 or higher, he is out attempting to score on a 942.

C Right fielder retreats back on a deep ball and runs into the wall, injuring himself. It’s a double off the wall, clearing the bases. If the batter has a Running Rating of 16 or higher, he makes it into third for a triple.

[1112] The right fielder has trouble tracking a shallow liner into right. Roll d6. If the roll is less than the right fielder’s basic fielding rating, the ball goes off his glove for an E9; the batter holds at 1st and the runners advance one base (two bases if there are two outs). Otherwise, the right fielder makes a terrific catch coming in and all runners hold. [1317] The right fielder gets under a ball deep along the right field line in foul territory. The defense can choose to either catch the ball and allow the man to score from 3rd or let the ball drop foul. [1819] Fly ball into right center. Roll d6. If the roll is higher than the right fielder’s basic fielding rating, the right fielder makes the catch and the men on 2nd and 3rd each tag up and advance a base. Otherwise, the ball is dropped for an E9 that scores 3 runs; the batter is thrown out at 3rd by the center fielder who has retrieved the ball for an 85. [20] Fly ball into right center. The right fielder and center fielder both go for the ball and collide. The right fielder is injured. The center fielder gets up and goes after the ball. Compare his Running Rating to that of the batter. If the batter’s Running Rating is higher, score it as an insidethepark homer. Otherwise, the center fielder throws him out at 3rd on an 845 after the baseclearing double.
