It was great to see so many students participating in the swimming carnival last Thursday night. I was so impressed with the high level of sportsmanship I saw in the heat of competition. Congratulations to Red House winning the overall high point trophy and to all our age division champions. It was also great to see so many families attending and I enjoyed catching up with many of the fathers. School photos are on tomorrow so come dressed in your best uniform. Voting for your class SRC representatives will also take place tomorrow and the Healthy Harold van is here for a couple of days doing workshops with the students on healthy living. Lots going on this week. RAP trials at Barellan are on tomorrow for Cricket, Lawn Bowls, Netball and Touch Football. We have many students attending and it’s good to see our students participating in cross school teams.
Congratulations to Jayden McLean elected as our new school captain to stand beside Paige Bruest. Printed at the end of this letter is a Parent Survey. We are in the process of producing the Annual School Report and would appreciate if you could take the time to fill out and return the survey by Friday, 28th February. Thank you……and ‘til next time. RYDA Driving Awareness Excursion On Tuesday, 25th February, Stage 6 students will be attending the Rotary Clubs’ sponsored driving awareness program RYDA – Rotary Youth Driver Awareness program. The students will be required to return signed excursion permission notes by Friday, 21st February. All Stage 6 students have the opportunity to benefit from this important learning which would not normally be available to them at the stage when they are about to drive or ride. Professional driving instructors and NSW Police will instruct students how to improve their driving awareness skills in a 6-stage course. The permission note with all details about the excursion was handed out to Stage 6 students today. Mr Cox
Swimming Carnival What a successful twilight carnival! The weather wasn’t looking like it was on our side at the start of the carnival but the rain held off to allow for a fantastic night of swimming. It was so lovely to see all students eager to swim and gain valuable house points. There was so much entertainment on offer too!! Younger students were breaking out the dancing moves which scored more points for the green house! A big thank you to ALL parents and
community members who volunteered to time keep, supervise the little pool, man the canteen and especially to the P&C for supplying the food and cooks for the BBQ. Also, well done to the primary and secondary house captains for their organisation, encouragement and cheering throughout the carnival. Of course, massive congratulations goes to red house on winning the carnival on 540 points, with blue coming in second on 380 points and green in third on 301 points. Peter Harper, Elizabeth Davey, Steve and Kaye Shooter 2014 Murrumbidgee Local Health District (MLHD) Community Survey: The MLHD Community Survey gathers information from people across the Murrumbidgee region about their experience and perception with services in hospitals and other healthcare facilities. The purpose of the 2014 Community Survey is to: • identifying gaps in the provision of information • identify best communication channels for specific communities to inform, consult and engage Your feedback will allow the public to see what others are saying, and shows health service managers where they can make improvements in the future, and what they are doing well. It would be great if we could show the MLHD that the people of Temora and District are interested in health by showing their support in filling in the survey, it literally only takes 2 minutes!!!! Reports will be published by the Community Engagement Manager on the Murrumbidgee Local Health District website in mid-2014. Here is the link to take you to the survey, www.surveymonkey.com/s/TKTVBFR
