3. Installing CO2 Capsules

R-Series RAM Rifles are powered by two 12 gram CO2 capsules.we recommend the use of walther CO2 capsules for a proper seal.

•Puttheairgunmarker“ONSAFE”(seeStep2.OperatingtheSafety).•Removethemagazineandmakesureaprojectileisnotloaded (seeStep5.UnloadingProjectiles).•MakesuretheairgunmarkerisnotalreadychargedwithCO2.Pointthe markerinaSAFEDIRECTION,putiton“Fire”,andpullthetrigger.Ifit containsCO2(seestep4.RemovingCO2Capsules).

3.—1R and 2R•RemovethestockandCO2cylinderhousing. Pulldownthestockrelease leverandslidethetelescopingstockoffofthestocktube(illustration7a).•Turnthestocktuberetainingringcounterclockwiseuntilitmeetsthepuncture assembly(illustration7a).

1.HightemperaturescanincreasepressureintheCO2capsuleandalsowithintheairgun,leadingtohigherthanstandardoperatingpressure.Thisexcesspressurecouldcausetheairguntomalfunctionorbepermanentlydamaged.Maximumstorageoroperationtemperatureshouldneverexceed122°F(50°C).Thistemperaturecanbereachedifyouleavetheairgununderdirectsunlightonabrightday.Thus,toensureproperairgunoperation,donotexposeittohightemperaturesordirectsunlightforlongperiodsoftime.Otherwise,theCO2capsulecouldoverheatandexplode,whichcoulddamagetheairgunandcauseinjuriesordeathtopeoplearoundit.2.Fastconsecutiveshootingmayproduceadecreaseoftemperatureintheairgun,aswellastheCO2capsule.Thiscouldresultinlowerprojectilevelocitiesandmayevenlowergaspressureenoughsothatthepistolwillnotfire.Thisconditioncanbeespeciallyapparentwhenshootingincoldweatherandcanbeavoidedbyallowingmoretimebetweenshots.Thispermitsthegastoincreaseintemperatureandpressureandproducenormalvelocities.3.Duringrapidfire,themuzzlevelocityofeachshotwilldiminish.ThiscanaffectshootingaccuracyandyouwillgetfewershotsperCO2 capsule.4.CareshouldbeexercisedtoensurethattheairgunisnotshotwithaCO2capsulethatislowinpressure.Herearesomeindicatorsofinsufficientpressure: A)Thesoundoftheshotisnotasloudaswhenthecapsuleisfull. B)Theprojectilehitsthetarget,butinalowerpositionthanitwould withafullCO2capsule(thatis,theshootingspeedhasdropped).

Alwaysfollowwarningslistedonpropellantsourceforhandlingandstorage.

ItispossiblethatcertainconditionsmayaffectaCO2capsule,whichcanimpactitsproperperformance.Theseconditionsincludetheusage,maintenanceandstorageattemperaturesthatarehigherorlowerthannormaloutdoorstemperatures(59°F/15°Cto69.8°F/21°C).Anotherconditionmaybewhentheairgunmarkerisfiredrapidly.
